60 Years of AJ Rogers | From Home to Business

Before AJ Rogers became the business it is today, the shop was simply home.

The back of the shop that is now full of activity was once the family TV room, a place where Trevor and Peter grew up and where family life happened alongside the beginnings of the business.

It’s a wonderful reminder that AJ Rogers has never just been about work. Family has always been at its heart.

The walls may have changed, the business may have grown, but that connection to family remains.

❤️ A business built from the family home and a family built around the business.

1966: Where It All Began 🏁

In 1966, Christine and Anthony John Rogers founded AJ Rogers, naming the company after their own initials and putting their vision, hard work and family at the heart of the business.

The beginnings were humble, but the ambition was anything but. With determination, craftsmanship and a commitment to doing things properly, Christine and Anthony laid the foundations for what AJ Rogers would become.

From a small family business to a company celebrating 60 years, it all started here.
❤️ 1966 → 2026 | 60 years of family, dedication and excellence.

We recently completed a truly unique project , fitting bespoke flooring on a luxury boat! 🚤✨

Every detail was carefully considered, from designing a custom, contract-rated carpet with Wilton Carpets to withstand heavy entertaining, to sourcing solid brass for the bar area.
The owner also chose an Amtico Royal Oak herringbone floor for the new dance floor; a stylish, hard-wearing finish that's easy to keep clean.

A huge well done to our head fitters, James and Stuart, who completed the installation over several days while the vessel was docked at Chatham.

No two projects are ever the same, and that's exactly what we love.

Beautiful carpet. Built for real life. 🏡

A carpet can look fantastic on the day it's fitted, but choosing one that can cope with everyday life is just as important.

Busy hallways, children, pets, guests, muddy shoes and the general comings and goings of a family home all put your flooring to the test. That's where a hardwearing carpet comes in.

Today's carpets don't mean choosing between practicality and style. There are plenty of durable options that combine resilience with the softness, warmth and comfort you'd expect underfoot.

At A J Rogers & Sons in Bromley, we can help you find a carpet that's right for the way your home is lived in, whether you're looking for a durable hallway carpet, a family-friendly living room option or flooring that can cope with everyday traffic. Because the best carpet isn't just the one that looks good.
It's the one that keeps looking good.
