Wedding season is here… and finding a gift that feels personal can be surprisingly difficult!

So many presents end up forgotten, duplicated, or tucked away in cupboards. If you’re looking for something thoughtful, meaningful and completely unique, a handmade papercut could be the perfect choice.

Each design is carefully cut by hand by me, creating a piece the couple can keep for years to come. You can add personalised details (making them truly unique!) and choose any background colour you like. All papercuts arrived framed, (unless you’d like to do that bit yourself).

A little behind the scenes of how my Lighthouse workshop came to be...

The original idea actually began years ago after a visit to Portland Bill Lighthouse. When I got home, I couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I sat down to sketch it out… although I decided to add some dramatic rocks to the scene too.

That sketch eventually became a papercut artwork, and I was so happy with how it turned out that I turned it into greetings cards, which quickly became one of my best sellers!

Over time I kept thinking how lovely it would be as a beginners workshop project, and now it finally is 🌊

This version has a few more details and colours than the original sketch, but it still keeps the feel of that very first idea.

If you’re new here, hello! If you’ve been around a while, thank you for sticking with me. Today's prompt is all about me and what I do.

So, I’m Stacey, founder and maker behind Meet The Moon Designs. I create detailed papercut art from a single sheets of paper using my trusty (very sharp!) knife. I’ve been cutting professionally for ten years now – still can’t quite believe that – and I love the challenge of turning something so simple into something intricate and beautiful.

My work is inspired by botanicals, bold patterns, typography and the natural world. When I’m not cutting, I’m teaching – running papercutting workshops in all sorts of lovely places – and I’ve got an online shop stocked with beginner kits and templates if you fancy having a go yourself.

With a background in design, I also run , where I help small businesses and start-ups with branding and artwork – logos, flyers, business cards, price lists, all the good stuff.

Folk art animal templates have arrived!
This week I’ve added a brand new set of templates to my Etsy shop. They follow on from the Scandi-inspired festive designs from Christmas (which are still there for those of you who like to plan ahead!).
I wanted to create something simple, fun and satisfying to cut. Designs that work beautifully for greeting cards but are versatile enough for lots more.
This pack includes 6 folk art animal designs, all easy to cut and perfect for cards, decorations, bunting, stencils and little creative projects in between.

✨A little workshop update ✨

I’ve been quietly watching the bookings come in and a few of the upcoming beginners’ papercutting workshops are starting to fill up faster than I expected (which I’m very grateful for!).

Here’s what’s currently left:

22nd Feb – Fox in the Woods (2 spaces)
8th March – Elephant Mandala (6 spaces)
11th March – Botanical Initial Cards (5 spaces)
19th April – Pheasant (4 spaces)

All are held at Quainton Memorial Hall, apart from the Botanical Initial Cards which will be at Torino Lounge in Bicester.

I’m really happy to be running this papercutting workshop at a new venue, and as a weekday afternoon session for anyone who prefers a quieter, slower pace. We’ll be making botanical initial cards using simple A–Z templates. I've done this theme a few times over the years and it's always a really popular one for making cards and gifts ahead of time.

No arty background needed at all. You can choose from a selection of coloured cards and envelopes, making as many papercuts as the time allows. All tools are provided, and Torino Lounge serves food and drinks all afternoon if you fancy something from the bar while you work.
A lovely way to spend a calm couple of hours midweek!
