Incase you missed it on Instagram - a few days ago I found out I won Freelancer of the Year at the West Suffolk 2026 Business Awards 🏆 Jenna Basford Interiors is just coming up to a year and a half old. I started my business last year with three children aged 1, 2 and 12… they're now 2, 3 and 13 and I can't say they're getting any easier 😂 It's been a busy 18 months to say the least! On awards ceremony night I was in good company sharing a table with and and surrounded by so many brilliant businesses doing lovely things for our local community. One of the things I particularly loved about the Freelancer award I won was that it recognised the contribution freelancers make to other businesses and the local economy… not just their own success. Because behind Jenna Basford Interiors, it really is just me! The interior designer, the project manager, the person answering the emails, doing the accounts, designing and updating the website, running the social media… all me 😂 Sometimes I think the actual interior designing is the smallest part of running an interior design business! But whilst it's just me running the business, there's an awful lot of other people involved in what I do! Joiners, decorators, plasterers, fitters, curtain makers, upholsterers… the list goes on, a lot goes into a space!! I get to work with so many talented trades and suppliers and many of them are other small local businesses… you guys know who you are!!! Having you guys care about my clients' spaces just as much as I do means the world! And of course a huge thank you to my lovely clients for trusting me with their spaces and making all of this possible. So whilst the award might have my name on it, there's a lot more behind that name than just me. Still feeling very lucky and very proud. Thank you 🥰

Think this deserves a place here 🥰 Last night was the “Meet the Finalists” event ahead of next week’s West Suffolk Business Awards where I’m a finalist for freelancer of the year. Putting yourself out there this personally is actually quite scary. My business is literally my name… there’s no hiding behind anything, it’s just me. And if you know me in real life, you’ll know I’m quite introverted, so this whole ‘being the face of it’ thing does not come naturally to me at all 😅 But I’m getting better at saying yes to things that push me a little out of my comfort zone and I’m so glad I went. Such a lovely evening ❤️📰

This never gets old ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ thank you, thank you, thank you!

Sat my CIC H&S exam, passed, and now my CSCS PQP card is on the way 👷‍♀️✨ The PQP Card is available to professionally qualified members of certain recognised bodies - RIBA for architects / BIID for interior designers (along with other construction professionals). CPD towards this years total and another little box ticked, was determined to get this done this month ✔️
