Autumn | Strawberry Hill Flower Festival 2026

In just under two weeks, I'll be joining a brilliant group of floral designers as we adorn with British flowers & celebrate our craft of sustainable floristry.

Equal parts nervous & excited... walking around the festival last year, as you can imagine from this footage, I was totally inspired. I had no clue I would have the opportunity to take part the following year & am so grateful for it. You'll find my design in the jewel of the house: the Long Gallery.

Summer | The summer of 2026

The summer has been long & this morning I found myself longing for the comfort of jumpers, a change in season, a reprieve from the relentless heat.

A look back now to peony season at the very beginning of summer, which feels a long time ago. When the grass was still green and rain wasn't a distant memory. In fact, the peonies were in need of their spotlight moment before the storm came the next day.

Season-led floristry at its finest: guided entirely by nature's rhythm. Despite the overwhelming truth of this rhythm being disturbed and threatened, I have hope it can and will return.

Summer | High impact

More often than not, the designs that make my jaw drop are those that look as though they've been cut and dropped into a vase in a matter of seconds, or even better: as though they grew in place. The highs and lows of the field, the perfect imperfections of nature, the movement in the breeze.

Summer | Behind the flowers

Clover and Tide is 1 today! Deciding to be an exclusively British grown, sustainable floral studio seemed obvious to me. I had been drawn to School of Sustainable Floristry by the aesthetic, and left with so much more: a real passion for doing right by the natural environment through season and values-led design.

I'm fairly certain most appreciators of flowers are blissfully unaware of what goes on behind the scenes in the floristry world (see my season-led highlight to have your eyes well and truly opened), and so it's important to me that you see what goes on behind the scenes here.

I aim to put safety and respect for people, place and the natural environment first. How? By carefully choosing growers I trust are tending to their land ethically; by purchasing flowers as close to the studio as possible to reduce carbon emissions (these were grown by just 6miles away); by minimising waste throughout the design process (reuse, compost, recycle), and by being honest about the limitations of what can be done. Luckily, today that is one lonely and broken elastic band heading to landfill.

Sustainable season & values-led floristry is so much more than saying our flowers are British or local. It's a holistic approach to the craft, and ideally, everything that supports it. For me, my next focus is how I run the tech & admin side of the business as sustainably as possible - because we all have areas to improve, and that's ok.

Spring | Love is love in every season 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

As a relative "newbie" to the industry, I've taken my time putting myself out there, figuring out what is and isn't safe in what can feel a pretty intimidating space. But some things are bigger than me, my comfort, and my business, and simply can't wait.

This week, a wedding photographer in the UK has gone viral for their open & direct homophobia towards couples seeking their services. It's sickening, and just a glimpse of the exclusive & often discriminatory undertones of this industry.

So, to be clear: Love is Love; Trans rights are human rights; Black Lives Matter; Disabled rights are human rights; no human is illegal; Billionaires should not exist; Climate Action Now; and Free Palestine 🇵🇸

Interconnected and impossible to separate, Equal Rights for All = sustainability.

Inclusivity is an active process & silence is complicity, EVEN in the "whimsical" wedding industry✌🏻

Summer | Farewell flowers

The understated side of seasonal floristry: rarely posted, sensitively approached, and yet so meaningful to create.

Choosing flowers to honour your loved-one is a deeply personal decision, which is why each Clover and Tide arrangement is thoughtfully and uniquely designed to reflect the life and story of the person being honoured.

All arrangements are designed in my Canterbury studio, using natural materials, with a focus on sustainably grown, local flowers. This reduces harm to the environment, both where the flowers are grown and where they are laid; as in all of my designs, there is no long-distance transport, pesticides, or microplastic-heavy floral foam, helping to protect soil, water, and wildlife. This approach also supports a safer and local supply chain, from growers, to florists and funeral home staff.

Summer | Trends

The only trend I follow is the season. Trends have always felt confusing to me: rarely do they resonate, and they don't naturally feature in my creative process. It feels forced, which I and the flowers don't love. It's all about the freedom to explore natural form, unique to the time and place each arrangement stems from (pun intended).

If you're planning your 2027 wedding and feeling overwhelmed by what's "in" or "out", know this: you're not alone.

Let's create something that feels uniquely yours, today, tomorrow, and in years to come, when you fondly look back on the magic only you and your partner could have created.

Summer | By candlelight

A week ago we were dining by candlelight in floral heaven with flowersonthe.edge

The beautiful thing about this event was how the flowers took center stage. The food had to fit around the flowers, not the other way round - as is the norm for weddings and events floristry. We spoke through the flowers rather than around or over them. They weren't just part of the conversation: they were the conversation.

Since, all I can think of is that's exactly where I want my floral design to be. A facilitator of experience and growth; a beginning of an idea; a seed from which conversation and connection form.

Season-led floral design isn't just about creating something pretty (lovely though that is!), it's telling a story and connecting to something bigger than any one design or florist.
