🎨🔥 **Not sure which Heatshield design will look best in your home? Start with a sample!**

Choosing a design online can be difficult. Colours can look different from one screen to another, and something that looks perfect on your phone might feel quite different once it's alongside your **stove, flooring, walls, furniture and existing décor**.

That's why we offer **samples of our designs** to help make that decision a little easier.

Having a sample at home means you can see the colours and detail for yourself, move it around your fireplace and look at it in **natural daylight as well as your evening lighting**. You can even order a few favourites and compare them side by side before deciding.

It's particularly useful if you're trying to match a Heatshield with existing colours or you're torn between a few different designs. ❤️

For us, we'd much rather you take a little extra time choosing and end up with a design that you're really happy to have as part of your fireplace for years to come.

📐✏️ **Behind the scenes – sometimes a bespoke splashback starts with good old-fashioned pen and paper!**

When we're asked to produce a **large or particularly complicated kitchen splashback**, there's quite a bit of planning that has to happen before we can even think about making it.

Here’s Paul behind the scenes **drawing up the plans and working out how everything needs to come together** for one of our more challenging splashback projects.

Kitchen walls aren't always simple rectangles! There can be sockets, cupboards, cookers, different heights, awkward corners and other features that all need to be considered. With larger projects, we may also need to work out how the overall artwork and individual panels will fit together across the space.

It’s one of those stages customers don't normally get to see, but **getting the planning right at the beginning is incredibly important** when you're creating something specifically for an individual kitchen.

From Paul's measurements and drawings, through to preparing the artwork, manufacturing and finishing the panels, there's a lot that happens behind the scenes before the finished splashback reaches its new home. 🎨

And sometimes the more complicated the project looks… **the more interesting the challenge becomes!** 😄

🔥 Looking back at ExpoTile 2026!

Back in June, Paul and George had a fantastic time attending The Tile Association's ExpoTile 2026 event in Birmingham, alongside our friends at NoMorePly.

It was a brilliant opportunity to step away from the workshop, meet so many interesting people from across the industry, have some great conversations, and put faces to names we'd only known through business.

We were also lucky enough to enjoy the evening celebrations and see some fantastic businesses recognised during the awards! 🏆

A huge thank you to NoMorePly for inviting us along and making us feel so welcome. We really enjoyed the experience and the chance to be part of such a great event.
