Just realised I started doing this ten years ago! So here’s a post for the makers with a few tidbits of advice. There’s always ups and downs, but if you do what you love you’ll weather the storms that much easier.
I reckon I’ll do another post soon about how this all came about - I’ve written a load of guff but trying to fit that in a post needs brain. Run out of brain for the day now.

Everyone wants a useful understairs cupboard, right? Well they’re even better when you put massive drawers in there.
P.s. re the music choice - very sad to hear Kavinsky left us this week, I was a huge fan of the French house scene when I was young, and loved how he took that and went at it with his creepy 80s synth vibes. A strange remixing of my 80s tv childhood, he made awesome sounds. RIP dude.

Of all the trends in my lifetime, I like maximalism the best. I know, that’s a weird thing for someone so obviously inspired by architectural scandi design to say, but it’s true. I’ve always liked colours, patterns, loads of art on the walls (and a trail of chaos left behind, apologies to anyone who’s lived with me). But it’s nonsense that birch plywood only works in minimal, modernist homes (though of course it looks great in that situation). Here we’ve got a couple of brand new bespoke bedside drawer units in a Georgian bedroom, a room filled with colour and patterns and mismatched everything. Keep adding to the madness and it only gets better!

Cheddar Flan Jam tomorrow! A bunch of us have got together to create the Microrave tent, and of course I had fun making the microwave shaped front for the tent. Will be having a bit more fun with my dj sets too….
Come on down if you’re in the area, it’s free all day and is loads of fun. Big bands on the main stage too!

I’m working hard in the workshop at the moment, and I’ve not got anything particularly interesting to say about my practice either this week. So have one from the vaults instead - though I don’t think I’ve shared this pic before. A dj console, desk and mega vinyl storage unit all in one. Popping back here soon to put an extra shelf in the cupboard so there’ll be new pictures to share. I do love to see things once they’re in use - you see the owner’s personality shine through.

On the bench this week - erm, a bench. This will eventually have some seat cushions too. Reckon they should sit loosely or have poppers to keep them in place? I’m undecided.
A lovely thing to make for a returning customer, it’s always lovely to make more things for nice people!
