My one week ‘break’ has accidentally led to two months, so I’m not sure if anyone will even see these updates 🙃
I stopped posting to try to protect my account (it’s a long story) but I’ve missed creating and chatting with everyone on here so much.

This was possibly the DIY hardest job we’ve tackled together. We spent the first day doing it all wrong - and almost every strip of paper we put up that day got pulled down. A few YouTube videos later and we were back with a better method, and we were able to finish the job. What worked for us was: 1. Pasting the paper and leaving it to sit for 6 minutes before hanging 2. Creating a ‘crutch’ out of rolled up wallpaper that would hold the paper so that you didn’t have to take all the weight yourself 3. Smoothing the wallpaper from the centre to the edges, ensuring you didn’t stretch the paper and the pattern Considering we almost gave up half way through, we’re so pleased with what we were able to achieve and we’ll be using it again in the living room downstairs. It’s been a year since I posted this video which became my most viewed reel, with nearly 12 million views and over 4years worth of viewing time which still absolutely blows my mind 😂 I do actually miss parts of the paint stripping but I can’t say I miss the clean up, the clean up took five times longer than putting it on and is not for the faint hearted 😅 To anyone who is still in the paint stripping stage - stay strong one day it will become a distant memory! . . . . .

After I stripped the first newel post I wasn’t sure if I was going to do the rest - fast forward to this one and seeing the paint peel off has spurred me on to keep going. It’s definitely worth the extra prep for the better end result 👏🏼 . . . .

Ad This bay window was one of the first things we fell in love with in the house when we viewed it, but it was one of the last areas to get renovated. It feels so nice walking into the room and seeing this bay *almost* finished 🙌🏼

These are the Pure Linen Roman blinds from with light filtering lining. They’re perfect for when you want privacy without blocking too much light.

They sit perfectly within the window recess, allowing the window architrave have it’s moment too 🤎 The only thing I need to do now is finding something to go in the bay, I was thinking a small chair or a long bench under the middle window?

It’s been so nice having everyone off and I’m in denial school starts again on Monday 🥲

We’re off to London today with just Liam which was part of his Christmas present - he’s asked to go to some markets so if anyone has any Sunday market recommendations for central London I’d love to hear them!

Ad Happy bank holiday weekend 🐣 The Easter bunting is out whilst I’m patiently waiting for it to get warmer outside 🙈 storm Dave did not get the Easter memo!

Our new Bioethanol burner has been a very welcome addition. This fireplace sat empty for nearly 6 months whilst we decided what to install. After such a big renovation we knew we didn’t want to pay the installation costs that were required for a log burner, plus we think we will remove the chimney breast in our bedroom which would mean we couldn’t have a flue. We decided to try the Bioethanol Stove and it’s been the best decision!

The choice of colours is incredible. I always presumed stoves would be black, but there are so many colours to choose from - from bright to muted earthy tones. I *almost* chose the colour Terracotta which is a lovely rust colour. This is the Hamlet Solution 5 Widescreen Bioethanol Stove in Chestnut.

It’s so easy to use, requires no clean up and you can put the fire out when you’re finished with it 🙌🏼

If you have any questions please ask as it’s something I’d never heard about before either!
