So as we dip our toes into the first of the “ber’ months, don’t shoot the messenger but …… Christmas will be here before we know it !

As interior designers we can predict the usually flurry of challenges that most face, the vows you made last year that you would have sorted by this Christmas and then you blink and wonder where September, October and November have gone !

If you want to get ahead of the game, now is the time to chat with us about how we can help – whilst all the challenges in this post are Christmas themed, the reality is that they are challenges that we have throughout the year but at Christmas they all come at once !

Interior design isn’t just about colour and furniture choices it’s about how we make our homes work for us through the seasons – light and breezy in summer –v- warm & cosy in winter - and everyday life.

The foundations of your room are anchored in
-Furniture placement
-Flow of the room
-Storage
-Flexibility

The aesthetics are the decoration on top of the foundations.

We pride ourselves on offering budget friendly and cost-effective solutions to our client’s challenges.

We’re always happy to chat about home design projects you’re pondering with no obligation to proceed.

As always, as an independent and local boutique design studio your likes and follows mean the world to us 💚

Transition design 3 of 3.

And just like that, the uni years are over ! No need for desks, files & study areas, a time to be celebrated but can also be a trying transition back to living at home after 3+ years of having personal space and independence. It's often the little things that can pave the way - a coffee machine and mini fridge and if space allows a comfy armchair in their room can be a positive acknowledgement that you've recognised this next stage. An added bonus is you're left with a classic guest room when they do fly the nest permanently.

A design for this doesn't need a massive budget more a careful rethink in terms of colour palette, and minor furniture replacement / swap outs.

As always happy to discuss any design conundrums you may have!

Transition design 2 of 3
With the summer break coming to an end on the eve of GCSE results (😬), many clients are thinking about how they help their late teens transition from high school to college or sixth form. It's that balance between becoming a young adult with equal focus on the next stage of their studies and giving them their own space that reflects this.
Interior design isn't just about aesthetics it's about practicalities, a room that caters to all their needs, safety when going out and coming home late - often best serviced when they're coming home together with friends and a space to accommodate them (all!) overnight.

With the summer break coming to an end and kids making the transition to high school / starting GCSE's or A Levels / University I've had lots of conversations with clients, friends and family about how they make their kids rooms work for them as they step into this next phase.

Today's design is one of three, based on how to make your Tween Boy's room a safe sanctuary as they transition to high school that's cool enough to invite their mates round, incorporates their interests and gives them a space to do home work - which is bound to be a shock to the system !

If they love their room they're more likely to invite friends round rather than hang around elsewhere.

If this is something that's on your mind, it's a project that fits neatly into our Essentials package at £250.00 where we will create something bespoke for them based on their interests.

Follow us for instalments two and three later this week.

Being Space Savvy !

As Interior Designers our job isn't just about using decor and furnishings to create beautiful spaces it's also about problem solving, usually involving limited or awkward spaces and making them multifunctional to maxime usage.

This beautiful airy corner has been designed as a relaxation, homework and dining space in what was previously a randomly used corner off the kitchen.

if you have a "problem" space or lifestyle "problem" that you'd like some help with give us a call - alway happy to chat.

This design truly makes the kitchen the heart of the home and brings mediterranean vibes home to UK climes.

Open plan living needs careful consideration in terms of the practicalities of every day living and we love working with clients to get under the skin of how they will use the space and making it truly work for them.

Alway happy to chat through your design ideas and thoughts for projects that you're planning, are stuck with or have underway.
