Country cooks began in County Wicklow, Southern Ireland, nearly 30 years ago, catering for small private parties, Weddings and filling freezers. After returning to Yorkshire in 1996 the business continued- catering mainly for shooting parties before we took over the Moors Tea Rooms at the National Park Center at Danby. Here we gained invaluable experience in catering for the large numbers who reg

ularly came through the door to sample our wide range of freshly baked scones, cakes homemade soups, tarts and sandwiches. Since then we have been busy catering for - shooting parties / weddings / tv shoots / family gatherings etc etc

We are now about to launch -

The COUNTRY COOKS LARDER - as soon as the current pandemic allows - situated in a converted farm building - a small cafe offering a selection of home cooked meals, soups, cakes etc to take home . As farmers ourselves we feel it essential wherever possible to use locally produced , seasonal ingredients from the vast larder that Yorkshire provides. We will open Friday / Saturday/Sunday and by prior arrangement.

Step back in time at the Danby Rural Life Collection 🌿 Right next door to the cafe, the museum is full of local history and stories to be discovered. It’s the perfect place to wander, explore and enjoy a glimpse of days gone by.
