A little revisit to this beautiful guest bedroom which we revived with many of our clients existing pieces. The only new elements in the room are the beautiful grass cloth wallpaper from and the wall lights from - everything else is either reupholstered, french polished or repurposed. That feels good!

The silk curtains are over 25 years old and withstood a good clean. We love the character and meaning they give to the room!

Have a great weekend!

33°C in London and I’m exactly where I want to be 🥵📖 Enjoying the pages of ‘Dior by Dior: The Autobiography of Christian Dior’ — the most delicious way to revisit my recent trip to La Galerie Dior at 30 Avenue Montaigne, Paris, with my dearest cousin 🤍

The couture, the archives, just being there — heaven! Dior’s own words on his craft have stayed with me: ‘I always wanted to be an Architect; being a designer, I have to follow the laws, the principles of architecture. A dress is constructed, and it is constructed according to the fabric grain, which is the secret of couture, a secret that depends on the first law of architecture, obeying the laws of gravity.’ Clearly, he was obsessive, passionate - a real pioneer and visionary. Gorgeous!

And for someone who is forever observing staircases… the Colorama — an extraordinary sweeping spiral designed by architect Barthélémy Griño, surrounded by hundreds of miniature Dior pieces rising in a full spectrum of colour — it genuinely stopped us in our tracks.

Inspiring doesn’t quite cover it. If you haven’t been, I highly recommend a visit! 💫

As designers we’re always looking at things. Looking and looking and looking… Looking at the language of visual representation in all its forms to understand what creates character and what constitutes beauty, and just generally admiring…😉. Specifically we’re looking at the language of architecture, ornamentation, furniture design, print, materials, colour, form, shape, scale and proportion - all for the love of it! On days like my recent visit to L’hotel de la Marine, on le Place de la Concorde, my preoccupation with looking was exquisitely fed.

Le Hotel de Marine, also known as the Hôtel du Garde-Meuble (the office managing the furnishing of all royal properties.) Which is why it’s of particular interest to people like me.

So, if you’re an interiors geek - I couldn’t recommend it highly enough! In the meantime here’s a short little reel with just a few of the lovely views.

Delighted to come across in Saint-Germain district on my short Paris trip this week. So many exquisite designs with visually rich French provenance 🩵 A little aside - Antoinette Poisson were the middle names of Madame de Pompadour. She was an influential patron of the arts who played a central role in making Paris the perceived capital of taste and culture in Europe. Go figure! 😉

It’s always possible; there is always a way. With good design, an adaptive approach, good knowledge and a good dose of determination - there is always a way. This family bathroom is a good example of just that. Previously this passage like slender space was divided into an en-suite shower room to bedroom 2 and a guest WC, accessed via the entrance hall.

When we found a way of creating a third bedroom we needed a family bathroom to serve bedroom 2 and 3, and so the idea of giving up the very small en-suite shower room which served bedroom 2, in favour of combining the spaces to create a family bathroom to serve bedroom 2 and 3 was born.

By introducing the small nib wall (behind which the wc is hidden) and a step up we ‘cured’ the passage like character of the space.

We have clad the walls in Calcutta Amber stone, and the fittings are gorgeously

Small spaces require in-depth ergonomic focus, in order to deliver comfort, ease of use and elegance. This bijoux bathroom works hard for its beautiful family but it doesn’t feel like it does!

Thank you to for the great photography 📸

Something rather special to share with you all. 🖊️✨

I have been invited to join the judging panel for the BIID Student Drawing Competition 2026 — I feel truly honoured.

Run by the British Institute of Interior Design, this annual competition celebrates the drawing skills of interior design students across the UK. It is one of those competitions that really matters — not just as a platform for recognition, but as a moment for emerging designers to receive genuine, professional feedback at a stage in their career when it can truly make a difference.

Drawing is where everything begins. Before a scheme takes shape, before the materials and the mood boards, there is always a line — an instinct caught on paper. There is something so pure and revealing about drawing; it shows you how someone thinks, feels and communicates. It’s the first step in shaping ideas that will fall or fly depending on the alacrity of the drawn article.

With a few decades spent across fine art, architecture and luxury interiors, I feel ready to bring real depth to this panel — and an enormous amount of enthusiasm for the talent I know is out there.

Judging takes place in London on 10th June, with the winner announced on 25th June 2026. Entries close 14th May, so if you know a student who should be entering — please share this with them. 🙌

Thank you to the BIID for this wonderful invitation, which I look forward to sharing with Liz Bell, President of the British Institute of Interior Design and owner of , Lester Bennett, design consultant and past president of the BIID
and Anna Butles of and BIID president elect. I cannot wait. 🤍

✨Showcasing Tess Chodan: Slow Movement at Art At Home, Twickenham ✨

We are absolutely delighted to shine a spotlight on Tess Chodan, a valued member of our Artists Appreciation Initiative, as she prepares to launch her stunning new collection this spring.

Tess will be presenting Slow Movement at ‘Art At Home’ — a beautiful gallery nestled within art curator Kath Wood MBE’s Georgian home in Twickenham — and we couldn’t be more excited to share this with you.

About the Exhibition:

Slow Movement is an immersive collection of jewelled artworks in which nature, memory and craftsmanship come together in the most extraordinary way. Tess is renowned for her distinctive and deeply considered practice, combining antique entomology, taxidermy elements and archival materials with contemporary image-making. The result is a series of intricate, one-of-a-kind pieces that transform preserved butterflies, beetles and birds into poetic compositions exploring themes of fragility, time and ecological awareness. Each work comes accompanied by a certificate of provenance.

In this new collection, iridescent insects and delicate natural forms appear to gently inhabit the gallery space, drawing visitors into a quieter, more contemplative rhythm. As Tess herself describes it: “This collection is about slowing down, noticing detail, or reconnecting with nature. Slow Movement is about creating moments of stillness and wonder.”

Visit the Exhibition

The collection will be on display across three weekends: 18–19 April, 25–26 April, and 2–3 May

A very special Sunday Salon with Tess is also planned for Sunday 3rd May — a wonderful opportunity to meet the artist and hear about her work first-hand. Please contact Tess or curator Kath Wood directly for booking details.

All works will be available to purchase, and a catalogue is available on request.

There are artists who make beautiful things. And then there are artists who make you feel the full weight of where beautiful things come from.

Yeside Liney is unquestionably the latter. ✨

We are thrilled to share that this extraordinary member of our Artists Appreciation Initiative was recently invited to exhibit two works at the Harlem Fine Arts Fair in New York — and the pieces she took stopped people in their tracks.

Twin Spirits is a contemporary conversation with the Yoruba tradition of Ibeji — the sacred belief that twins share a single soul, carrying the power to bring fortune or misfortune depending on how they are honoured. Yeside’s work doesn’t imitate this legacy, it has a conversation with it.

Precious, on the other hand, moves through language — exploring how a name in Yoruba culture is never merely a label, but an intention. A declaration. A life shaped by the meaning it is given. Her ceramic figure, rendered with a quiet reference to albinism, asks us to reflect on beauty, visibility, and who is truly seen.

These are not pieces you simply look at. They are pieces that look back and speak to you, the viewer.

Zepharelly is not allowed on the table, but found her being curious, clearly wanting to be a part of the action for a short little while.
