Pru has taken it upon herself to personally check in on the crafting welfare of this entire community - and that expression tells us she is taking the role very seriously

Throwback Thursday - and this one is pure elegance

A handmade black card envelope. Silver metallic wax catching the embossed detail. Sometimes the packaging is just as beautiful as the card inside.

Here’s how Lisa creates this stunning envelope:
✉️ Starting on the LHC Scoreboard, Lisa creates a custom envelope from black card - (if you want a full in-depth look at envelope making, Sunday School Lesson 5 is exactly what you need! Watch on our YouTube Channel)
✉️ The top flap is positioned into the gorgeous Decorative Pearls 5x7 3D Embossing Folder - folding the side flaps in so it passes through the die cutting machine perfectly
✉️ Finally, and this is the magic step, metallic silver wax is rubbed lightly over the surface of the embossed card, sitting beautifully on the raised areas and bringing every single detail to life

The result is honestly breathtaking - that silver wax against the black embossed card is SO elegant and SO striking

A shaker card AND a layered butterfly AND metallic inks - Lisa has absolutely outdone herself with this one!

Here’s how she creates this stunning project from start to finish:
🦋 Cut the Layered Butterfly Die Set from white card and ink each element using Frozen Icicles, Sunshine, Lovestruck and Platinum Cloud 9 Metallic inks and a stencil brush - the colour combination is just dreamy
🦋 Spritz the excess ink left on your work surface - then take a tag cut from the Nested Tags Die Set in white card and dip it straight into that pooled ink to create the most gorgeous inky background
🦋 Assemble the layered butterfly and set aside
🦋 Cut a black frame using two sides of the nested tag and adhere to clear thick acetate - trim to match and add foam all around to create the shaker element
🦋 Once the inky background is completely dry, ink around the edges of the tag with Cloud 9 Liquorice Swift Dry for a beautiful defined finish
🦋 Add your shaker elements. Carefully remove the carrier sheet from the foam and seal the background tag to the frame - locking in the shaker elements inside
🦋 Add the layered butterfly to the front and finish with a sentiment

That moment you shake it and everything moves inside - chef’s kiss

Three ink colours. One embossing folder. And the most breathtaking result.

Lisa is embossing black card with the gorgeous Sunflower Field 5x7 3D Embossing Folder - and then the magic begins:
🌻 Swipe Fools Gold metallic ink across the surface - it catches only the raised areas of the embossing
🌻 Repeat with Verdigris - adding the most beautiful depth of colour
🌻 And finally Lovestruck - and suddenly this card is absolutely stunning

That combination of metallic colours catching the raised embossed detail against the dark black card is just everything - rich, luxurious and so incredibly effective for the simplest of techniques
