A pinch me moment!

I am over the moon to be taking part in Lino North, a major contemporary Lino print exhibition at the in Newcastle.

The exhibition will bring together leading linocut printmakers from Scotland, Wales and Northern England, running from the 11 September- 29 November. There will also be a full programme of events led by the participating artists. I’m running a workshop on the 25 September.

There’s a fantastic video on YouTube showcasing some of the artists in their studios (link in my bio).

To be asked to exhibit among printmakers I’ve admired and have learnt from (as a self taught printmaker videos were basically how I learnt to do reduction prints) is really a dream come true.

Very happy to be exhibiting with some of my printmaking friends as well, including and Deb Wing.

Second time this Sous Chef print has been stolen and generated into more AI slop.

I know it seems fun to make your own avatars and things like that, but remember where it learnt how to do that… from real artists.

Hermit 🐚
After the n3ws the past week I think we might all feel like this?

This Lino print has been retired as the block won’t print any more, and now lives on as an A5 Riso print!

Printfest! 🎨
Took basically no photos, but had such a great time in Ulverston for

As someone still early on her printmaking journey, it was initially daunting being surrounded by such talented and experienced artists, but the welcome was so warm from each of them, especially my stall neighbours, and I have left the weekend feeling very inspired by what’s possible.

I also won the founders prize, from the people who built Printfest and celebrate quirkiness, which took me completely by surprise.

Big thanks to the team, volunteers and everyone involved for creating and running such a beautiful event, and a huge thanks to anyone who bought a card or print and had a lovely chat with me!

Had a very cold swim in Bassenthwaite lake this morning to celebrate!

An oldie (2022 I think?) but one of my more personal prints, ‘Going for a Walk’. About all the places your mind wanders off to.

I’ve always felt a bit conflicted about making cards… 🫠
But I have given in and have a new collection. Currently you’ll only be able to find these at “in person” events, so first up is next weekend at Printfest!

A3 The Gardeners Riso prints are here! 🌼🪻🪷🦆🏡🪴🪏🫜

If you’re new here, I turn my reduction linocut prints into Riso prints, honestly so that I can offer them at a lower price point and supply them to shops, but also because I love love love the texture and colours and effects of Riso. A Riso printer is a Japanese machine, that works a bit like screen printing. You print layers of wet ink on top of one another, creating blends of colours and beautiful inky effects from the wet ink. The greens in this print were created by different blends of blue and yellow. I love that it gives my prints a new personality and they feel quite separate from their originals.

Could not be more delighted with them, big thanks to for having the perfect shade of pink and printing them so beautifully.
