Very happy visit to see Rona Quercus Garden Plants located at Whitmuir Farm. Absolute bliss walking round the gardens in the sunshine and catching up about life, family, friends and plants. What a magical place you’ve created Rona! 👏🥰🪴

Very happy return visit to this garden in the Cairngorms to fill a few gaps. Lupins and Persicaria bistorta seem to love this garden. The water feature was created by more than ten years ago. I asked them if they could basket weave rebar, and with some kind of wizardry they did!

Finally! The mostly shady border under our cherry tree has come together and was looking dreamy this morning. Astrantia, Dryopteris, Aquilegia, Iceland poppies, Sweet woodruff all happily jostling for position and self seeding into the gaps while the Japanese Acer hangs its protective branches overhead. The black fence provides a lovely backdrop for these colours.

East Lothian boat house project at night: new addition to my website portfolio page. Link in bio ⬆️🪴. Any rural setting can, by its very nature, be extremely dark at night. So lighting to allow visitors to reach this lakeside boat house safely on foot was needed. Careful consideration was given to limiting light pollution and minimising disruption to wildlife.  Warm white light, focal point specific light fittings and easily controlled switching were all factored in.  Thanks to smartphone technology the photos here suggest the lights are brighter than they are in reality. The end result, thanks to expert installation by , is both magical and practical.
