AT-AT Display. The Process.

The full build from empty wall to finished display. Two screws. Five modules. The Launchpad. And a problem halfway through that the modular system solved in about a minute without any tools.

One of the questions we get most often: how does the X-Wing stay at that angle?
Two FAVO Base Plates with standard LEGO® stud spacing. A small cradle built from ordinary LEGO bricks. No glue. No custom parts. Just the two systems working together.
It is not sitting on a shelf. It feels like it is flying. That is the difference between storage and display.

The AT-AT found new place.

Seventeen seconds later it is on the wall. Five FAVO modules in Arctic White. Two screws. Four Base Plates. Full crew underneath.
Now I can see it from the sofa. That is the whole point. A display you look at every day.

The AT-AT found its place.

When I can sit down, that is. Copper has opinions about how I spend my time on the sofa.
These photos were taken in the evening sun. The light caught the AT-AT at the right angle and cast its shadow on the wall behind. I did not plan that. It just happened.
This is LEGO® set 4483 from 2003. Bought incomplete on eBay. Rebuilt piece by piece from Bricklink. The full crew is deployed underneath. Four Stormtroopers, the driver, and the team leader.
The modules are FAVO F.1 in Arctic White. The white disappears against the wall. The AT-AT is the only thing you see.
That is what FAVO is for: to expose What is on the display and disappear in background.

The AT-AT has moved.

It has been sitting above the door since we built the Testing Wall. It looked dramatic up there. But it was too high. Too far from where I actually sit. I could see it when I walked through the doorway, but not when I was on the sofa.

That is not what a display is for. A display is something you enjoy every day. Not something you forget is there because you never look up that far.

So it came down. New wall. Lower position. Opposite the Cosy Corner with the Orchid and Hibiscus. Now I can see it from the sofa. The crew is all there. Four Stormtroopers, the AT-AT driver, and the team leader, standing on the Base Plate underneath.

This is a 2001 AT-AT. Rebuilt piece by piece from Bricklink orders. It deserves a spot where someone is actually looking at it.

A dark corner above my writing desk. No space for a vase. Not enough light for real plants.

Fourteen seconds. Empty wall to LEGO® Plum Blossom (10369) and Chrysanthemum (10368) on four FAVO modules in Arctic White.

Two screws hold it to the wall. The modules click together. The white disappears against the wall. The flowers are all that is left.

Small space. Simple build. Watch with the sound on for the click.

You saw the photos last week. Here it is in motion.

My bureau is in my bedroom, next to the window. But this corner of the wall behind it gets almost no light. Real plants never lasted there. And there is no room on the desk for a vase or plant pot.

So the LEGO® Plum Blossom (10369) and Chrysanthemum (10368) went on the wall instead. Four FAVO modules in Arctic White. Two screws. The rest clicks together. The whole thing took about five minutes.

The white modules almost disappear. The flowers are the only thing you notice. That was the idea. Keep the display quiet. Let the colour do the work.

I sit at this desk every day. Having something beautiful above me has changed how this corner looks like. A small space. A simple setup. But it makes a huge difference.

This is my daily workspace. My bureau sits in the bedroom next to the window, but somehow the light in this corner never quite reaches the wall behind it. Real plants do not last here. I have tried.

And there is not much room on the desk itself. Books, letters, bits and pieces that build up during the week. Space for a pot of flowers was never really there.

So I tried something different. LEGO® Plum Blossom (10369) and Chrysanthemum (10368) on four FAVO modules in Arctic White. Up on the wall instead of taking up desk space. The white modules blend in. The flowers are the only thing that catches your eye.

It took five minutes to put together. Two small screws. The rest just clicks.

And now every morning when I sit down to work, there is something colourful above me that was not there before.

Sometimes a small change in a small space makes a bigger difference than you expect.

🌱 Where ideas become reality… sometimes it's a little messy! 😊

Innovation doesn't always happen in a spotless workshop. Sometimes it happens in the middle of your living room, surrounded by tools, sawdust, and plenty of determination.

This weekend we're working on a new project for FAVO.

Many people know FAVO as a modular system inspired by creativity and compatible with LEGO®, but we've always believed it can be much more than that.

Together with my daughter, we're building a custom plant stand that will use FAVO modules as part of the design. It's a chance to explore another practical application while combining engineering with her passion for plants. 🌿

There's still plenty of work ahead, but I can't wait to share the finished result with you.
