I'm Interested in what my members collect, may be it's fine China, coins, stamps to vintage cars and lead soldiers. I probably have the country's biggest collection of motto ware. I was first introduced to it 20 years ago when I read about in a two page spread in the Antique Roadshow magazine and thought it's decorative and old plus looks contemporary and what I love are the sentiments/mottos on each item. Produced in Torquey and most of my my pieces are over 100 years old. The Victorians who lived in large cities always brought a piece back from Devon/Cornwall as a keepsake of their holiday. All my pieces are in mint condition. I wonder how they survived 100 years made out of local clay which chips easily. My most expensive piece, and I'd say rarest is the Cornish pasty cost me 10 years ago £200 and that was a bargain. I started picking things up when I first started for £1 to £2 now I'm lucky to find something for under £10 for a good mint piece. I love Longpark which is one of the factories that produced the cockerall design circa 1883. I'd say pottery that has never dated. I'd love to hear from someone else who also collects motto ware.

Do you have vintage furniture that you would like valued. We offer a full valuation service also taking to Auction for you should you wish to sell. Brown Victorian antique furniture is not doing so well lately not like it did many years ago when it was a premium. But I'm hoping it will come back into vogue soon. Georgian furniture is still being bought and collected with its slim unfussy lines will fit in any home.

This weekend I went on a hunt for something vintage with the contemporary look and found these beautiful Vitra chairs. Vitra products are designed and developed in Switzerland partners of Eames made to the highest standard and look great mixed with old and vintage. These chairs will go in my summerhouse and are extremely comfortable. The only thing left to buy is a vintage bookcase and a coffee table. On my bucket list is a vintage coffee table by John Piper with the image of Lincoln Inn Fields shown in the image.
