Grad Project
“Get me home and give me a pint of Orchard Thieves and a packet of Hunky Dorys” June 2025
A 24 piece collection of wheel-thrown plates, with hand-built additions to each. Living in England for three years made me miss Ireland more than i’d anticipated. This project was an appreciation for my home, and my return to it, while shining light to a bit of history.
Before this project, my entire ceramics career consisted of four mugs. I set the bar high for this project, aiming to make so many repeated forms of something i’d never made before. It was a long six months spending every waking moment on this, but I enjoyed every second.
A selection of these plates are now on display in my studio at the Butttermarket!
