I'm actually feeling quite pleased with this bag as believe it or not, nothing went wrong! πŸ˜…
I recently started playing Old English Lawn Bowls and needed a bag for my woods.

I found this free pattern and tutorial on YouTube by for a Mini Duffle bag. I have adapted it slightly but it's a great little bag and there's plenty of room also for a water bottle etc. It also has an inside zip pocket. I made mine quilted to give it stability.

I used a cotton canvas for the outside and a vintage cotton fabric for the lining which was given to me by a friend, and faux leather on the bottom.

Some last-minute gifts for friends that I was meeting for lunch today. It's a great scrapbuster and a quick, easy project. Perfect for glasses or sunglasses or for any bits and bobs you can never find in your handbag!

This week, I've taken part in the bag making challenge, which resulted in these cute mini tote bags. Loved taking part in what was a very friendly and supportive group, with great video tutorials.

The striped one made to match my recent make, the by and the other using some gorgeous red fabric, which was given to me by and to whom I'm going to give the bag to ❀️

After making the lovely the recent patchwork denim hat, she gave me some Harris tweed fabric she had and asked me to make another hat. I have to say that I love this one, really gorgeous fabric. My first time working with it and it was fine.

Choosing the lining was the difficult bit πŸ˜… I went with brown as I thought it was more autumnal.

Pattern used was the bucket hat.

Currently making a toile for the West End jacket, which is a free pattern by courtesy of using some 'retro' cotton fabric, which I believe is a curtain weight (according to the lady who gave it to me).

Yes, I'm still making hats!

A recent patchwork denim one I made for a lovely lady at our bowling club. How gorgeous does she look in it?! 😍
I still love making the patchwork ones but equally those that are not as they are a bit quicker to make πŸ˜…

Pictured with another club member wearing his that I made for him for his birthday last October and I'm happy to say, he's been wearing it all summer (well, on the days we've had some sunshine)! This was actually a sunny day and was difficult to find a good spot so the colour isn't great.

The pattern I used for this denim one was by

This was a cute little project from one of my sewing groups...a Tea Caddy Purse.

The Tea Caddy Purse is a clever little purse that was created to hold tea bags and a packet of sweeteners but could be used for so many more things...... medications, cards and coins, lipstick, feminine items etc.

It features two pockets with snap closures and a single slip pocket between. Perfect stocking fillers, what do you think?!

Some more bonding hearts to add to the pile. I've now made 50 and will be sending these off in the next couple of days.

These will be going to .hie the only dedicated UK charity to support those affected by H.I.E. (Hypoxic-Ischaemic Encephalopathy), which is caused by a lack of oxygen to the brain πŸ˜”β€οΈ

Not everyone will have heard of it, I have to admit I hadn't until now.

The bonding hearts will help a baby to know their mother’s smell, and vice-versa. The hearts also help mum when she expresses milk, as the smell of their baby stimulates the hormones that are partly responsible for producing breast milk.

The idea is simple, mum wears one heart next to her skin and the other one is placed next to the baby to transfer their smell on them, then they are swapped over regularly.

Goodness, is it really June since I last posted?! How time flies.

I probably don't post that much because I'm not sure anyone is really interested in little old me and what I make πŸ˜…

I love seeing what everyone else is making and getting inspiration from them...ideas, hints and tips (some work, some don't). I'm still loving my sewing journey and trying new things. I will try and keep my page updated more often and get round to making some items to sell... well, it will soon be that time for buying gifts! πŸŽ…πŸŽ„πŸŽ

In the meantime, I'm currently making some Bonding Hearts for .hie ❀️

Back in November I started to attempt a patchwork shirt. Finished it a while ago but haven't been very consistent in sharing my makes... so, here it is!

Made from scraps, a mix of cotton and polycotton. I had a nightmare doing the buttonholes that's why there's a mix of buttons and poppers πŸ˜…

I really love how this turned out. Haven't got any photos of my son wearing it yet but he did wear it when he played a gig with a great stage shirt eh?! 🀣
