Using texture, natural elements such as crystals, gilding, polished plaster and glazes. I have also worked with commercial clients to create bespoke collections of artwork for their retail outlets.

A closer look at the surface.

Texture, agate, light and a lot of very patient mark-making. beautiful agate slices which I put together through many suppliers . Patinated silver metal leaf and 3D ripples. The 3rd image is with thanks to Peter Staunton Design Studio who did this AI render for their client. it looked even better IRL ♥️ mixedmediaart

Not watching paint dry, but watching it crack! This is a layer of plaster over a solid surface with a layer of crackle medium in between. it’s like magic 🪄 when it works, but beware because it can be very temperamental and unpredictable ♥️

It’s important to me that my work is as interesting up close as it is from meters away so I spend a lot of time adding small details like seed pearls, shading and tiny pyrite crystals which sparkle when the lighting changes or as you walk past art

Before & after -the work evolves! I returned to this piece after installing it last week to add more colour and texture in situ — and thankfully, the client is delighted with the result.

I’m rather pleased too, because the whole process was an unknown. I started with a canvas print of my original artwork and then worked directly onto the surface by hand, adding paint, colour and texture to create something much more individual.

There’s something rather lovely about allowing a piece to keep evolving after you thought it was finished.

And apparently sometimes an artwork just needs more blue. 💙
