I recently made a Keepsake Box for the birth of a boy and girl, the boys box was made from oak, sapele and maple and had a Union Jack on the lid and the girls box was made from walnut and maple with a bow flush in the body of the box and on the lid.
Nameplates are fitted inside the lid with Name, Date of Birth, Weight and Time of Birth.

Very happy with the result on both of these.
