2025 Mar Hall refurbishment>

In collaboration with Historic Scotland, we replicated the existing pine floor pattern using new, more durable oak. The original pine was extensively damaged, with numerous gaps and significant trip hazards, rendering it beyond repair. The result is a stunning new floor designed to last over a century.

Clients can customize the style, pattern, and finish for all our flooring options. Additionally, we offer timber distressing, which involves tumbling the board edges and applying face marks to achieve a reclaimed aesthetic.

We also specialise in the hospitality sector, providing and installing custom timber pattern floors and wide planks. We collaborate closely with clients and designers to ensure they can select the ideal timber style, grade, and finish. Many of our floors are finished on-site, offering greater flexibility in color selection post-installation. Alternatively, for those with a precise finish in mind, we offer prefinished floors and a "supply only" option for contractors with their own fitting teams.

Additionally, we maintain a stock of well-priced, prefinished trade planks and herringbone patterns. We are always prepared to explore bespoke solutions that align with your budgetary requirements.

Who's watching Celebrity Traitors?

It is that time of year once more. I invariably find myself observing the floors, which we installed long before the castle gained prominence from the show. These were new oak floors; we distressed both the wide planks and the herringbone pattern to achieve a reclaimed aesthetic. The bespoke colour was specifically developed for the client/designer. We now conduct periodic maintenance visits, after filming concludes, to restore the floors following the celebrity abuse đŸ˜€

We are exploring the possibility of re-establishing a studio in Edinburgh. This presents an opportunity for an individual or entity with existing space to rent out a portion, enabling me to conduct client appointments exclusively and furnish the area with high-quality flooring. I believe that sharing a space with a company closely associated with architecture, interior design, or refurbishment would foster a mutually beneficial collaboration.

On occasion, completing recently installed wide oak planks by hand is necessary. The area presented an awkward configuration, making the use of our buffing machines impractical. Nevertheless, the final finish quality remains consistent, though the process simply requires additional time.
