Thanks mum for the creative giftπŸ™
NO NFTS 🚫 Sue's Stones and Fine Art is my little art business. I'm Sue Ryder and here's a little about me. Once upon a time (in 2020) the day after my mum passed away, I found a painted stone. I felt it was a beautiful act of kindness and also very inspiring. I'd never painted anything b

efore but started to enjoy it and after time I got some lovely compliments from the rocking community. I've hidden rocks, I've gifted stones to friends and family, I've painted pebbles and kept them for myself and I still do that and still get a buzz if people find my hiders but now things have progressed I actually have items available to buy in a shop here in Norfolk, I have an online Etsy shop and also take commissions. Pet portraits are my most requested items. It's always an honour and a privilege to paint fur babies especially those that have travelled over the rainbow bridge 🌈
I paint on are Acrylic paper 10" x 7", small wooden hearts and wood slices, tins, glass, slate and occasionally canvas

The Fine Art
Colour Pencil pieces using lightfast pencils and professional archival surfaces. See photos for examples. Considering ordering something please message me and we can discuss your requirements and prices. Please note with any postal service they can be subject to delays which is out of my hands once I have put them in the postal system. Any commissioned items are bespoke/one offs therefore I am unable to offer refunds but will do my best to ensure that you are pleased with your item. Painted stones are technically ornaments more suited to indoors. They have two layers of varnish which will protect them a little from outside elements but please note long exposure to rain and sun will make them fade over time. I feel lucky to have found this talent at my age and everything I do is lovingly created and I channel a little bit of my mum in each item. Thank you so much for reading and supporting my small business.

I've shared this before and probably will again. This is my little tribute stone to our dad, a gentle gentleman who's eyes sparkled when he smiled.
Love and miss you daddy pops ❀️

Francis John Holmes Ryder was born on 9th June 1915. A happy childhood enjoying country life, farms and animals. Later he joined the RAF, had married his sweetheart and they had 22 happy years together until sadly she died suddenly aged just 42.
Through his career as a welfare officer in elderly care he met our mum Iris who was an assistant matron at a residential home. Thankfully for us they fell in love and the rest is history
Although an older parent aged 50 and 52 when my sister and I were born, he was a true family man. Hard working and patient. He provided us with a lovely home and the garden was always beautiful. He built my sister and I go carts, a play house, sledges, sprinkled us with the hose in the summer, did cartwheels on the beach, taught us to swim in the sea, read books and sang rhymes to us, taught me to drive and became a doting grandfather and much more.
Always an avid motorcycle enthusiast and rider all of his life. He ran a motorbike workshop for troubled teens at one point and did lots of voluntary roles when he retired.
We lost him in 2001 but feel incredibly lucky to have had him as our dad.

To all the dad's today, we appreciate you, love you and thank you.

Just been for a breakfast after a walk by the sea.
So many sea gooseberries along the shore line!
Apparently to save them, the best thing to do is to scoop up quickly in a bucket and wade out past the breakers. I wasn't able to do that today but hope some survived. πŸ™
How is your Sunday going?

These stones I created for my mum's grave in 2020.
The art has lasted a while but eventually succumbed to the weather.
So here they are freshened up with a few layers of varnish to protect them for a bit longer πŸ™

Friend, photographer, film maker and Wildlife whisperer Gez Robinson shared this the other day bringing back fond memories of the time I painted him and his family some mousey stone gifts.
Lovely to see again after all this time. How adorable is that little mouse getting a close up view. 😍🐭

I left a different kind of gift today and hope to do more of this type of thing as it's good for my soul and hopefully brings a smile to the finder.
This gorgeous setting is so magical. I had the place to myself apart from the cuckoo you can hear in the background πŸ˜ƒβ™₯️

Sarah has been a valued and returning customer and someone I'd like to call a friend. She recently asked if I could create a painted stone of the gorgeous Indi to complete her pet set and sent me a photo of them together πŸ˜ƒ
I enjoyed each and every one and as always would like to thank Sarah for entrusting me with her fur family.🐾

I posted about my visit to St Mary's Church last week to take a personal painted stone to the newly installed Keith Flint memorial bench.
After sharing it, the man who got the ball rolling on the bench reached out to tell me his story.
That man is none other than Jason Shorthouse from Jilted Generation - The Prodigy Tribute Band.
Jason tells me he approached Revd Ron Reid (a β€œtop man,” in his words) to see if a bench could be placed at the Church where the Revd had presided over Keith's funeral in 2019β€”
"so Prodigy fans who were going to the church for a pilgrimage, And Keith's family could sit and reflect on his life.
Me and John (Prodigy's manager) got in touch. The family and the band granted permission, thought it was a fantastic idea.
I personally wanted the bench to be paid for by me and the fans but the family and the band wanted to fund it.
John showed me the design and I agreed it definitely represents keith."

The bench was created by Free Range Designs (extract from their website, visit for full article)

"The vision for the bench was to create something striking, unique, and evocative of Keith and his unforgettable, electric character. We co-created the design with John and The Prodigy's Liam Howlett and Maxim, and continued to refine it until the band and family members were happy to sign off"
πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

So we owe a debt of gratitude to Jason for being the "punkin' instigator" and making this happen.
Who's going to see the bench or has been already?
