This bedroom design balances natural materials and soft tones for a restful feel. Blush pink bedding, warm woods and woven textures are paired with a statement marquetry wardrobe and a delicate floral headboard.

A mood board for my first international project — and a truly special one, working remotely with the loveliest clients who are dear friends of close family.

This is just one small piece of a much bigger puzzle: the Design Direction for their entire home. We’re still in the early stages, gently pulling together threads of vintage charm, natural textures and personal meaning. The mood board helps capture the overall feel, but it’s only the beginning.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll explore colour palettes, materials, layout ideas and style references — shaping a detailed design manifesto to guide every decision, room by room. I’ll share more of that process soon.

Are you team light or team dark?

I’ve always been a bit wimpy in my own home and stuck to lighter colours, but this downstairs loo was an opportunity to go dark. A fun project done over a couple of half days over new year.

Expect it won’t be its last colour of 2025 - I’m already eyeing up the rest of my paint samples working out which is the next one to try!

Ending the first week of 2025 looking back at this project from Wi******er two years ago. My client was about to welcome her second baby into this Victorian terrace, and needed helping turning chaos into calm. We allocated her budget towards new fixed joinery to provide storage and a new sofa. While we kept a lot of the rest of her items, we worked hard to tone down the colour scheme. (After these shots were taken, we added a larger rug too, this was one was a bit diddy for the space!)

Fitted joinery is often my first port of call when working with small spaces, it’s amazing how much bigger it can make a room feel. A relatively big investment, but one which always pays dividends.

A little late with my festive post… but it’s still Christmas until 12th night so…

Feeling very grateful to have had a magical few days in front of this roaring fire in Kent, with my whole family gathered for Christmas for the first time in many years. We toasted our much missed absent friends, and looked forward to health and happiness in 2025 with our warriors from 2024🤍

Thank you to my wonderful clients and friends for your support with this little venture during 2024. I sometimes still pinch myself when I realise that this little studio is all mine - the juggle is real, but I wouldn’t have it any other way ✨

Three small changes… a whole new experience 🤍

This was a shared ownership flat, and also not a forever home, so big changes weren’t on the cards. However, storage and character were missing - so that’s what we tried to inject with these simple changes.

The festive period has given me some time to focus on projects a little closer to home. 🤍🎄This one is particularly special, working with my sister and brothers on my mum’s spare bedroom in a historic rental in rural Kent. It’s a work in progress.

Simple furniture changes made before Christmas made it possible to host flexibly over the festive period. Zip and link twin beds have replaced two old singles which had seen better days.

I’ll be back in the spring to tweak the remaining furniture, refine artwork, update the bedding and soft furnishings, and add a rug. I’ll keep you updated as we progress and change this one over time.

Practical changes usually make the most difference in a family home. Being a rented home, we can’t change as much as we may like, but it’s amazing what a bit of a furniture reset can do.

For anyone else who has struggled with space over the past week, these beds are a great solution. You can switch between twins or a super king depending on who is staying. DrawerEtsy UK each bed provide storage for the bedding not in use. The bespoke headboards were from upholstered in Deck Stripe in Duck Egg.

Sharing progress from site - a new master suite at this fabulous period home in north London. A whole home renovation, with support provided via the Complete Design Package. We’ve created a generous master bedroom, his and hers dressing rooms and a generous master bathroom.
