Good morning to our house guests! The cold does seem have to set in on the coast and the urge to say “winter is coming” is strong. For your morning perusal, a collection of vintage postcards! Often overlooked, postcards are a beautiful way to add some personality or a point of interest in that small nook or within a larger gallery wall. The only thing better than a Jane Austen book is a beautifully gilt detailed leather bound Jane Austen book! This complete set is just too gorgeous not to shout about, I’m slightly obsessed and the amount of times it went on my personal bookshelves and off again might’ve worn through my carpet. For a fan of her writing, truly worth every penny.

What better way to watch the world go to hell (has there been a more apt time?) than with these beautiful hand painted Wedgwood tea cups. They have a deep blue colouring with gilt detailing, a very refined way to take your morning cuppa! Complete with saucer they are a beautiful little piece of history!

In the most recent addition to our shop, something you never knew was so essential to life: the musical paperweight! I joke of course, however it truly is a treasure. The musical movement is made by Reuge and truly has a lovely sound, if you need a pick me up on your desk this will be a great little addition.

My passion for vintage items particularly homeware is the history that you inherit with the item. For example this beautifully hand painted tray was created by Lord Roberts Workshops. These popped up all over the country particularly after WWI to help employ wounded soldiers coming home. They created all sorts of wooden items such as toys, sewing machine covers etc. and the art is truly lovely.

Can a house truly be complete without a bookshelf? Or in my particular case a small library. In my mind a vintage book nobody’s heard of is as precious as a gem and this edition is truly brilliant. It has gorgeous illustrations throughout with commentary on process, stances and particular movements from ballets. Also at £10 it’s a snip!
