Highbury Farm

Highbury Farm Highbury Farm is a first generation family farm of 144 acres plus additional grazing run by Peter and Yvonne Gear. They also have two sons and a daughter.

We run our own flock of Poll dorset/mules sheep, in which we produce our own natural wool for knitting, we can also produce fleeces for spinning. In addition we sell genuine sheepskin rugs in various colours, and also other sheepskin products. Peter and Yvonne have been at Highbury Farm for 27 years. The farm is at the moment running a flock of 400 ewes which this season will be lambing March and

in April. From our poll/dorset sheep fleeces natural pure 100% knitting wool

50 grams Double knit 3 ply, 100grams washed hanks

The wool can be knitted on 8 needles or no 7. The tension of no 7 is 22 stitches, 28 rows

10cm/4ins and thats doing stocking stitch, also available carded sliver for spinning and felting. If you are not sure on amount of wool required and you over estimate we will refund on return of wool. At the moment we have natural and natural undyed blended shades with natural lanolin content. Natural colour and light, medium and dark grey wool in 50grms balls £5.00 and 100grms hanks £7.50

We regularly attend a number of local markets and all our lamb and mutton also other products can be purchased at our stall
