Certificates, test results and circuit information form an important record of electrical work carried out. Without them, future maintenance, alterations and compliance checks can become more difficult.

The documents a business should receive depend on the work carried out. They may include an electrical installation certificate, a minor works certificate, an Electrical Installation Condition Report, test schedules, updated circuit information or operation and maintenance details.

Fire alarm, emergency lighting and portable appliance records may also need to be retained as part of the wider compliance file.

Keeping these documents organised helps facilities teams, landlords and business owners understand the condition of their systems and demonstrate that work has been completed properly.

RSUK Group provides certification and reporting as part of the completed project, with any findings or recommendations explained in plain language.

If your organisation has gaps in its electrical records or is preparing for an audit, property transaction or refurbishment, speak to our team. [email protected]

A reduction in solar generation does not always indicate a fault. Seasonal changes and the weather can cause output to vary, but a sustained drop in performance should be investigated.

Inverter faults, damaged cabling, panel issues and new shading can all reduce generation, affecting potential energy savings.

This article explains what normal solar PV generation looks like and how to spot signs of underperformance. It also covers common faults, maintenance visits and when an older system should have a detailed assessment.

Learn how to tell if your solar PV system is underperforming, common causes of reduced generation and when to arrange professional solar maintenance or repairs.

Electrical works were completed on behalf of Computanet Solutions Limited at Malet Lambert School in Hull to support improvements within the classrooms.

The work was scheduled and completed during the summer holidays, allowing everything to be safely installed, tested and handed over ready for the new term without any disruption to the school day.

If your site needs electrical alterations, maintenance or new installations, we work across commercial, industrial and domestic properties.

A solar PV system does not always stop completely when something is wrong.

It may continue generating electricity while producing less than expected because of an inverter issue, damaged cabling, a faulty isolator, increased shading or a problem with monitoring equipment.

Warning lights, error messages or unexplained changes in energy bills should also be investigated.

Older systems may need a broader assessment, particularly where original components are no longer supported or maintenance records are limited.

RSUK Group inspects domestic and commercial solar PV systems, diagnoses faults and explains whether repair, replacement or further monitoring is the most beneficial next step.

If your system is showing an error or appears to be generating less than expected, speak to our team to arrange an assessment.

Lighting can change how a renovated home looks, feels and functions every day. Yet it often receives less attention than flooring, kitchens or paint colours during the early planning stages.

Leaving lighting decisions until electrical work has started can limit your options. Moving a light fitting later may mean altering ceilings or disturbing finished surfaces. Adding another switch could require new cabling after walls have already been plastered.

Good lighting planning starts before those decisions become difficult to change.
A successful scheme considers how each room will be used and where people will need light. It should also take furniture layouts into account. From there, you can decide where fittings and controls should be placed.

This article explains how to plan lighting during a home renovation. It covers the different types of lighting, positioning, controls and installation costs. It also explains when to involve your electrician.

Learn how to plan lighting for a home renovation, including light positioning, switches, dimmers, colour temperature, bathroom lighting and installation costs.
