The Holywell and District Arts Tour is in it’s second year!

Come and enjoy an exciting visitor and community focused art and craft event. Running over 2 days from 10am to 3pm (4pm for some workshops) its looking packed full of fun. Aimed at showcasing a wealth of local talent whilst getting to enjoy our one-of-a-kind heritage, with a mix of sea views and countryside.

Local artists and crafters will be at venues along the route, some will be staging demonstrations; such as the talented florist who owns Waterhouse Flowers. Kate will demonstrate a hand tied posy which will be available to win by someone who’s booked in advance or on the day here [email protected]. And a planter demonstration will also take place – led by Steve and the team from Ability Grows. Which will also be available to win; if you book here [email protected].

Rosie Tuszynska, Catherine Jones Art, Karen Teal (Adore adorn Textiles), Gavin Blackwell (www.gavblackwell.com), Heather Jones (Well Water Wishes), Crochet for Wales, will each be hosting workshops, available for advanced bookings. The Quirky Crafter will host a drop in fabric printing workshop in Greenfield Valley Schoolroom. Book in Nexus Creative Spaces or by email [email protected].

We’re in the process of finalising other workshops; for instance - Cake Baking, Paper Quilling, and a cookery demonstration are hopefully coming too!

On Saturday morning there will be a chance to be involved in a weaving project to be displayed in town. The activity is led by Textile artist Karen Teal and is open to all ages and abilities. A Stitch in Time, Weaving our Family Heritage will allow families to remember their heritage around Holywell and it’s Districts and be a lasting piece to be enjoyed by all. And Gavin Blackwell with be introducing printing suitable for all age groups.

Artist & Crafter Applications Are Still Open!

We’re excited to announce that applications are now open for stalls and art & craft workshops for the second Holywell and District Arts Tour. This time were also looking for someone to make and bake traditional Welsh dishes either as a demonstration or workshop.
Friday 26th June will focus on art and craft workshops suitable for adults and Saturday 27th June will focus on family entertainment, currently Juggling demo and classes, along with an art installation for our whole community to get involved.

Holywell Town Council has again organised a Party in the Park at Fron park and Holywell Leisure Centre on Saturday 26th July (11am-4pm). Last year was a great success and we hope to build on that this year. A great way to kick off the school holidays with fun and activities for all the family! Please feel free to share!
