WSW Events look forward to welcoming such talented and creative trading colleagues to The Whitby R***e Club for our 10th gothic, horror and alternative market.

Come, peruse and relax under electric candlelight with over 30 stalls offering the finest gothic and alternative attire, accessories, accoutrements, homeware, jewellery, entomology, spells and potions, tarot and art amongst many other wondrous things.

If you want to cease and desist from shopping for a while, you will be made most welcome in warm comfortable surroundings, and offering great food and beverages too.

Absolutely free entry, and unlike other venues, we are also furry friend friendly too.

The trading times are Fri & Sat 10 – 5pm and Sun 10 - 4pm

We hope you can spare some time to call in as part of your itinerary over the weekend, and look forward to welcoming you.

Introducing A Brief History of A Victorian Funeral Director

A talk by Funeral Director Emma Sparre-Newman covering how and why Victorian social conditions gave rise to the modern day funeral director and shaped so many funeral customs that still hold true today.

Every wondered why we send flowers?

Why funeral horses wear feather plumes?

Emma can explain it all.

Emma is the youngest daughter of a country vicar, it was her childhood ambition to be a funeral director and despite being side tracked into working in the costume department of the BBC, Emma has now been in the funeral profession for over thirty years, living and working in South East London.

When not working, Emma's time is spent either indulging in her passion for the aerial arts as a would be trapeze artiste, reading or accompanying her Antipoet husband to various gigs, festivals and events.

Wow, we know this one will be over subscribed so make sure you get your seat early!
