Homes with colour, pattern, and layered detail don't happen overnight. They showcase character through things collected over time, sometimes furniture passed down in families, handcrafted items, and people's confidence to make a space that reflects who they are rather than copying a look in a magazine.

This week we've started work on decorating our dressing room-cum-guest bedroom, a space my partner and I use daily. We've lived in our home for 10 years and, until now, this was the one room left untouched.

The project involves rethinking the furniture layout, resolving storage challenges, updating electrics, designing custom joinery, developing a colour scheme, and bespoke soft furnishings and upholstery.

I'll share the process as it unfolds, starting here with the core scheme for walls, woodwork, and other surfaces, along with the underlying inspiration pulled from my camera roll of moments and places from our travels that shape how I approach interior decoration.

The aim is a room that feels warm and cosy, layered with earthy colours and textures, and culturally rooted.

Introducing commercial solutions where fabrics play a meaningful role in how spaces are experienced and used.

Over the past year, my work has expanded beyond residential interiors. Some of my recent commercial commissions included the Baráki Bar at Pyro, a restaurant near Borough Market, and a private office for a lingerie brand in Belgravia. Each required bespoke solutions tailored to commercial use. They involved bespoke curtains that balance atmosphere, function, and longevity.
