READY TO HEAD HOME

This little sewing table was probably made around the time of the Second World War or shortly afterwards.

The owner loves it but decided she wanted a change to go with her more modern decor. Her choice of colour is Scotch Mist, a lovely green/grey/blue colour.

The original interior was somewhat tired and stained so it has been removed and the interior painted. She plans to keep some gardening books in there.

It makes the sweetest little table.

READY TO HEAD HOME

A pair of half moon tables came into the workshop last week for a refresh.

They were a creamy colour with darker areas which defined the texture on the legs etc. However, the owner wanted them in a simple cream colour to use in her shop, Kitty & Gus, in Kelso.

I’ve got to say they look lovely in Creme de la Creme - fresh, clean and ready for their new home.

READY TO HEAD HOME

I painted this little table some time ago and it came back to the workshop for a freshen up.

It had a little bit of damaged paintwork so, rather than just touching it up, I sanded it back before repainting with 4 new coats of gold paint.

It will head home shortly.

WORKSHOP WEDNESDAY

In the workshop this week we have 2 x half moon tables, a little round table and a little sewing table.

Lurking in the background we also have 6 garden chairs which I will paint for my daughter’s garden.

The heart shaped display box is part of next week’s quest! It’s not going to be an easy sand or paint!

1) The Half Moon Tables are being painted in Creme de la Creme for a shop called Kitty & Gus in Kelso to add to their displays.

2) The Sewing Table probably comes from the 1950’s post war era and had been lined in a really bright pink. The lining had been removed at the owner’s request as it was a little worse for wear and the table is being painted, inside and out, in Scotch Mist.

3) The blue and gold table had been painted in Sadie's Shed some time ago and was in for a freshen up after sustaining a couple of bits of minor damage to the paint work.
