A little label with quite a story. 💚

Before there was Equilibrium Lifestyle, there was Life Equilibrium, my health and wellbeing coaching business, centred around helping people find their balance.

In 2020, during lockdown, I started turning beautiful upholstery fabric remnants into unique meditation cushions. Initially, I made and sold them under the Life Equilibrium name and logo. They felt like a natural extension of my work, bringing together wellbeing, creativity and a more thoughtful use of what we already have.

About a year later, I realised these creations needed an identity and a home of their own. And so Equilibrium Lifestyle found its name, keeping that connection to balance while making room for something new to grow.

Since then, it has grown into something I’m so proud of, bringing together my values, passions and the heart of my coaching: living in balance with ourselves, the people around us, society and our beautiful planet 🌱

As the days get shorter and darker, you may feel the need for a gentler pace. A little more time to stretch, pause, settle, and notice how your body feels.

Some days you might feel like moving. Other days, resting your head and letting the day go.

Beautiful things don’t always need to start with something new. 💚

I love taking existing, discarded and remnant fabrics and turning them into something beautiful, useful and individual.

These yoga mat bags are handmade in small numbers, using carefully chosen fabrics that deserve another life. Different colours, different textures, different combinations. No two are ever the same.

And perhaps that’s what makes them a little more special.

Things that make a maker ridiculously happy: four behaving cones of thread and a beautifully finished seam. 🧵😂

There’s a particular kind of satisfaction that comes from making something with your own hands, choosing the fabric, cutting it, sewing it and watching it slowly become something that didn’t exist before.

And then there’s the overlocker. 😍
Neat seams, beautifully finished edges and that wonderfully satisfying moment when everything just works.

It’s the little things, isn’t it?

Makers, please tell me I’m not alone…. What ridiculously small thing makes you disproportionately happy? 😂

I don’t believe a beautiful home needs to be filled with things that are brand new.

Sometimes it’s the one unusual piece, something with age, craftsmanship and a story behind it, that gives a room its personality. 😌

That’s very much how I approach the vintage and antique collection at Equilibrium Lifestyle 💚 I look for pieces that catch my eye, feel individual and can sit beautifully alongside contemporary interiors.

Things worth finding. Things worth keeping. And, hopefully, things that find their way into your home for many more years to come.

There’s something about an old piece with a little history and character, that a newly made object simply can’t replicate.

The patina, the faded label, the tiny signs of age…all part of its story. 🥰

I’m always drawn to decorative antiques that bring character and individuality into a home, and this old amber apothecary bottle is exactly the sort of piece I love to find.

My collection is individually sourced and mindfully chosen. Not because something is simply old, but because I think it deserves to be re-discovered and appreciated again.

I’m heading to Worcester! 💚✨

I’m delighted to be taking Equilibrium Lifestyle to the Brighter Soul Wellness Fayre on Saturday 26th September.

For me, wellbeing has always been about more than one thing. It can be taking ten quiet minutes for yourself, creating a small ritual at the end of a busy day, choosing objects that bring you joy, or simply allowing yourself to slow down.

That thinking sits at the heart of Equilibrium Lifestyle, and I’ll be bringing along a selection of my handcrafted wellbeing pieces for you to see, touch and discover in person.

There’ll also be a fantastic range of wellbeing practitioners, therapies and other independent businesses to explore throughout the day.

Every stitch counts.

For me, craftsmanship is about the things you might not immediately see… the careful cutting, the finishing, the time taken to make something properly.

I work with beautiful eco-fabrics, remnants and materials worth giving a new purpose to, creating pieces designed not just for now, but to be used, loved and kept.

Because quality matters.

And so does making things with purpose.

Independent makers like me will never compete with the likes of Shein on price.

But nor should we try.

I was inspired to write this after reading a recent post by my friends and wonderful sustainable haberdashery suppliers James Tailoring Eco Haberdashery about the value of originality, quality and responsible sourcing.

It resonated because it lies at the heart of Equilibrium Lifestyle: creating and choosing with purpose.

We already live in a world overflowing with things. Do we really need more of the same, made faster and sold more cheaply?

For me, there is far more value in giving beautiful materials a new purpose, working with fabric remnants deadstock and sustainable materials, reinventing something that already exists, or finding an overlooked vintage treasure and allowing it to begin a new chapter.

That may never compete with fast fashion on price.

But it offers something fast fashion cannot: creativity, individuality, craftsmanship and meaning.

Perhaps the question isn’t, “How can we make things cheaper?”

Perhaps it is, “How can we make and choose things better?”

HANDMADE CERAMIC HEARTS

I’m so happy to see how much you’ve loved our little ceramic heart dishes!!! I absolutely adore them too. 🥰

Each one is handmade, each one slightly different, and those beautiful, vibrant glazes just seem to bring a little something to wherever you put them.

And I love how everyone finds their own use for them. A little dish for jewellery on the bedside table, somewhere to keep your favourite crystals, a place for your keys, a little sage holder… or simply left just as it is!!!

There are only a few pieces remaining from our very first collection now, which makes them feel rather special.

Handmade in Belgium, with each heart completely unique.
