Today I’ve decided to do something I’m not very good at… taking the afternoon off 🤍

Running a small business means my brain rarely switches off. There’s always another idea, another fragrance to test, an email to answer, an order to pack or something I suddenly decide needs doing immediately 😂

But this week has been a busy one and today I’m giving myself permission to stop for a few hours.

I also just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Mereside this week — whether you’ve placed an order, shared a post, sent me a lovely message, recommended me or simply followed along. It genuinely means more than you probably realise.

Small businesses really are built on people supporting people and I’m incredibly grateful for every bit of it.

So… laptop closed, candle lit (obviously) and an afternoon off 🤍

The final burn test is underway… 🕯️

I’ve been working away behind the scenes on something a little bigger for Christmas — our new 50cl candle with up to 60 hours of burn time.

There’s a lot more testing that goes into a candle than you might think, and I won’t launch anything until I’m completely happy with how it burns from the very first light to the very last.

So this is the final test… and if all goes to plan, these beauties will be joining the Mereside Christmas collection very soon. 🤍

A bigger candle, a longer burn and something rather lovely for those cosy winter evenings.
