Once upon a time, viking age reenactment mail armour was made from galvanised fencing wire rings, butted together. It was very heavy and not terribly robust, but was the best we could manage. These days, we use superbly crafted riveted ring mail which closely approximates the real thing.

I made a couple of wood cored spear covers. One for a sharp, the other to fit a ball pointed (combat-safe) spear. There is some evidence for spear covers in Scandinavia in the viking age. Though these two are speculative in construction ..... made in much the same manner as a sword scabbard.

Recently completed scabbard for an unusual and utterly gorgeous sword from Jackhammer Forge.

A recently completed scabbard. Styled after a number of C12 and C13th images, sometimes referred to as the Aragon style due to a Spanish example (nothing to do with the son of Arathorn as I am often asked!)

After a bit of a break, I'm back in the workshop. Today has been mostly about embroidery frames.
