Well it’s been a bit of a damp week this week so I have been indoors for part of it prepping some oak gateposts ready for installation, also got in a bit more house painting today while the sun shone.
Oh and the end of last week I installed the artificial grass on a school job that I did a few weeks ago.

So this week I have been making the most of the good weather and have started the outdoor makeover of this super property.
First of all was to wash the whole property and chemically clean it before painting, then a wash coat was applied before then a second coat of Dulux Weathershield.
The whole job made easy by having access all the way round and being able to use an Access Platform.
I’m now on holiday until the 9th May so will continue this project when I return.

Haven’t posted much recently so here are a few pics of what I have been up to.
I have been doing bits and pieces at some of the pre schools I look after, main job was to create a garden with a covered area for the babies so I cleared the area and built a covered section for year round use , this will be covered with artificial grass but unfortunately it hasn’t arrived yet.
Then I made some planters for herbs, a sand pit , some mirrors on the wall and some natural tiles all of different textures , this is now a great outside learning space.
At one of the other schools I condemned a decked area back in the autumn so have now removed it and will at some stage soon build balance beams , climbing wall etc in its place.
Then as it’s growing season I turned over an unused veg bed for the children to grow their own vegetables.
This is just a few of many general maintenance jobs carried in recently.

Sorry I have been a bit quiet recently, I have been busy this week making a boot storage area under a staircase, plain white walls with all the underfloor heating manifolds and the underside of the stairs weren’t really the prettiest.
So we put up some stud work and then used Tongue & Groove to clad the stud work and underside of the stairs leaving service hatches for maintenance of the heating.
Underside painted with Dulux Vinyl Matt white and the walls painted with Farrow & Ball Hague Blue, must say it looks really smart in those colours.
Local company Clifford’s joinery also made me some oak trim to cover the edges of the T&G and trim the top side of the oak staircase.
Just the boot racks left to make.

This morning I did a little emergency job on a ex rental property that the landlord had just got back, tenants mentioned the floor was spongy in the bay window.
So I didn’t really have to remove the old joists as they didn’t really exist anymore.
New joists in , new floorboards put in place and back to how it should be.
