155 Interior Design Residential Interior Designer | Specialising in Consultancy and Bespoke Design Welcome to 155 Interior Design. Created and run by me, Francesca.

I have always loved interiors, and if you’re here reading this, I’m guessing you do too. For me, when I step through my door I am transported somewhere safe, somewhere welcoming, with just the right vibe. My signature style has evolved into something unique to me, where I truly feel at home. I want to feel that I have made this the best possible place for me. So, how do you want to live? At 155 (O

ne Fifty Five), I aim to work with you to develop your personal style, coaching you through the design and decorating process, and helping you to finesse the styling so you feel supported and empowered to create your ideal home. Whether you own or you rent, it doesn’t matter if you’ve never picked up so much as a paintbrush or struggle to visualise the end result. I can coach you in creating the room of your dreams. I do know though, that this takes time and needs careful curation - I understand from experience, the pitfalls of trying to take a vision from my mind’s eye into the physical space without proper planning and sourcing. It used to feel like something was just ‘off’. Fortunately all you need is a helping hand, someone to put those designs on paper, source that shopping list and provide a ready made plan - which is exactly what 155 can do for you with our E-design service. The rest is in your capable hands because you’ll have all the tools you need to bring the designs to life - but don’t worry - we’ll still be on hand to offer support. If you’re all done with the big decoration and are just ready to style the room, 155 can help there too! It’s the details which can bring the whole scheme together and we sweat the small stuff so you don’t have to. Our styling service coaches you through adding those all important finishing touches to really bring a room alive with your personality and interests. I wanted to build a design service that centres you, that celebrates what you can do and that teaches you that you can feel amazing in your home. So whether you have a blank slate to work from, need a refresh, or even just need help with styling - book a free 30 minute online consultation with me today. I can’t wait to work with you!

If you ever want to have an honest conversation, have it with a 9 year old.

Yesterday, I was invited into a local primary school as part of their careers week - to talk to them about my job.

My job wasn’t the easiest to guess but the children had some really insightful questions about it and how I help my clients.

Dare I say, some of them even seemed excited. More so because they thought I’d whipped a taser out my bag but they did think the laser measure was cool.

And they were weirdly hung up on using wallpaper instead of paint - but who knows what the young’uns are into these days.

All this to say, it was a brilliant afternoon and I hope that at least one of them might have been inspired.

But more likely, they want to be like the other lady there that worked in television. And that one kid that wanted to be a bricklayer and asked for a job in 6 years time.

In the meantime, if there’s any questions that weren’t answered here, ask away!

I think it’s time I showed you some stills of this gorgeous, gorgeous bedroom ✨

This is what happens when you design a room, intentionally, and as a whole.

Last year I worked with on her bedroom, a space she hadn’t decorated in a long time. And the longer she left it, the harder it became to get started.

So when we sat down together, we knew we had to get clear on what she really wanted from this room. How it would look, how she could make best use of the furniture she had already, and most importantly, how we were going to make this room feel like somewhere she actually wanted to spend time in.

We had to look at the room as a whole, this meant colours, textures, finishes as well as layout and functionality.

That is a lot of decisions, but Caroline and I made them together.

We narrowed down options and chose each element not in individuality but for how it would contribute to the overall design. Each piece had to align with Caroline’s style and understanding of how the room would feel. All pulled together, it worked.

If your room is missing something, perhaps it’s that you’re getting hung up on each individual part rather than how that bigger picture is going to feel.

If you need a team mate, I have some availability for a new project. Drop me a message and we’ll figure out what you need to make your room work for you.

Rating my living room lights from

Lighting doesn’t have to be expensive or designer but it does have to work hard in your room.

Although, good lighting should feel like it’s not trying hard at all… when done well it will enhance a space and make it feel beautiful.

Bad or harsh lighting… well we’ve all had to look at ourselves in the changing room mirrors right? What is that??!

Anyway - here’s what I chose to light my room, so now you can choose it too.

Let me know what you think?! ✨

I’m calling this “accidental styling”

It’s what happens when styling your space becomes a bit of a habit. It means you can leave things out sometimes and it still looks alright.

Sometimes even good enough for a picture ✨

What do you reckon?

When I tell people what my job is, I always get “ooh I bet your home is lovely”

And sure it is, I worked hard on this living room. I took time to style it well and it feels finished and considered.

But we also have to live here and that means the styling is often battling the whims of an increasingly spoilt dog and an expanding yarn collection.

But still, it’s worth doing, styling actually helps contain the mess - because you can always reset a room.

It’s why taking the room further than just choosing new paint colours and a sofa is important.

And it gives you something nice to look at when you’re trying not to look at the washing out the corner of your eye.

Homes are real, messy, lived in but they can still look good doing it.

What’s something in your home that ruins the aesthetic but it has to stay anyway?

Listen, I promise you I don’t actually drink wine every night…

But I do absolutely set my space every single evening so I can sit down and unwind.

I’ve done it since I was a child, since my mum would be cooking dinner and instruct me to “go make the room ambient”

She still says it to me when I’m at her house now.

It means lamps on, fire on, cushions readjusted.

So that we can sit down together, doing nothing very much. Watching tv, just being…

But always in a warm, cosy environment.

Which is why I do it in my own home, and will always do it.

Because I can’t relax until my room relaxes with me.

So I want to know what you do to set your space?

And if this isn’t something you always remember to do, then here’s my invitation to go make your room ambient tonight.

It was always my job to set the table.

Every Saturday night and Sunday lunch with my dad, it would be my job to set the table whilst he cooked dinner.

This was well before I would host my own dinner parties and set the table with some extra decoration for my guests…

and if I’m honest, it was a right chore - I hated doing it.

But there was still something about it that felt good.

Probably because I knew that a hot plate of pasta was about to be handed to me…

But also because it was a place where we talked about our week or watched whatever was on TV, whilst we scattered breadcrumbs across the table from mopping up the pasta sauce with a baguette (we call this “Scarpetta”)…

It didn’t matter if the wine dripped onto the tablecloth, as long as our glasses were full.

The food would be good, the conversation would sometimes be frivolous, sometimes much less so.

But it was always about taking the time to sit together.

So set the table.
It’s actually quite important.

What I reach for time and time again…

I’ve been asked a few times lately if I have a particular design style.

Am I a maximalist? Do I love colour? Or if you sliced me in half, would I just be neutral tones all the way through?

I always say my designs are about the client and what they love, and that’s true.

But on reflection, I’m drawn to classic softness: warm neutrals, muted shades of colour, and spaces that feel peaceful but layered.

It’s not always big and bold, but it is considered (and I do always like to add a bit of drama somewhere…)

So yes, I adapt to your style, but I always aim to make it timeless and sophisticated.

So it feels like you but more intentional ✨

Save this moodboard for your next project - what will you use in your home?

I woke up this morning convinced it was Sunday.
It was not.
And I have a to do list as long as my arm for this week.

So how did I make sure to start my day right?

Coffee. Obviously.

For me, it’s not about the caffeine hit (although it probably is and I’m just lying to myself), but it is about the ritual.

Taking a few minutes to make something nice for myself - so whether I’m sitting down to drink it before I start my day or I’m jumping headfirst into some design work - I’ve got a little touch of something good to go along with it.

What rituals help you enjoy the day to day a little more?

And speaking of design work - I love creating homes that feel special and allow for little moments like this. If you’d like to know more, let’s chat ✨
