Mamma bear is out of ICU and now on a medical ward. We’re hoping she’s out of the critical stage and moving into recovery now 🙏🏽 I am so grateful for all the love and support. My mum is a fighter.

My dad went to visit my mum today and I took a much needed day with one of my soul sisters to Salts Mill.

We had crumpets and coffee, got to see some amazing art, jewellery and photography and spent way too long in the gift shops before heading to the river for a glass of fizz.

Additionally - we also got locked into the massive industrial carpark while it was heavily raining and thundering and lightning but as we’re both pretty chill we found it quite funny.

Home now dry and safe with my emotional cup filled up.

Waited 4 years for this moment…I’ve been officially diagnosed with ADHD (inattentive) with autistic traits (that was a little surprising)….

I have a LOT to process. Decades of feeling like an outsider, struggling with basic life stuff, struggling in schools and most jobs and realising that I’ve probably been masking my whole life - especially in social situations with the use of alcohol.

Too much to process at the moment - it’s validating for sure but I wish this had been spotted when I was a child.

I have no intention of watching the BS Channel 4 “documentary” which claims ADHD is a bit of a myth.

If you had my brain you probably wouldn’t want it!

Anyway…a lot makes sense now. Probably to quite a few people who know me too.

But as I said, a lot to get my head around.

In two months time I start titration for medication - be interesting to see if they help or if they uncover more of my autistic traits!

Felt rubbish yesterday morning so made a conscious decision to wear my favourite colour orange and a gorgeous new dress. It actually helped! Dressing in your favourite colour and wearing fun clothes can really brighten my moods.

I was brought up with both my parents wearing fun and often controversial (*for their age 🙄) clothes and have learnt that what I wear can lift my spirit. It’s not a cure for depression and stress but it can help!

It also helps that this shirt is a pure silk Whistles purchase worth £90 which I paid £15 for in Hampstead Heath - love a bargain!

Nervous system resets this week…

Yesterday I had two lovely wild river swims with gorgeous company…the heat was wild so the cool water offered beautiful relief.

Today I am chilling with my boy in the garden - in the shade as I can’t deal with the heat atm. Fun fact: my rescue cat is partially blind (which they didn’t know when he was a foster) so he’s only allowed to come outside with supervision. He doesn’t try to run away and generally knows his boundaries!
