we had an incredible session with Vic yesterday, where we deconstructed theatre
we got to play and take over the spaceeeee

we had an extraordinary evening attending JASON WILSHER-MILLS exhibition in collaboration with the Wellcome Collection
, titled 'Jason and the Adventure of 254', at the Attenborough Arts Centre . I highly recommend visiting; the exhibition is open today and will run until the end of August. It offers an immersive exploration of Jason's personal journey. Upon entering the exhibition space, I felt as though I had stepped into the artist's mind.

It was a wonderful, vibrant, and beautiful. Important discussions were held regarding how art is important to have access to especially as a working class person, to expresss and share your story

art should be for everyone

Throwback to Vic’s Act Now Workshop 2025 at the Attenborough Arts Centre

we are soooo excited to be working with Vic again for their deconstructing theatre workshop 27th June 2026 1pm to 4pm Attenborough Arts Centre

The focus is on experimenting rather than finding the “right” answer. There will be fun exercises where everyone will be encouraged to use teamwork, empathy and creativity. The workshop is open to performers, directors, writers, and anyone interested in contemporary theatre. No previous experience is needed, only curiosity and a willingness to explore.

Thank you soooo much to everyone that came on Saturday to Attenborough Arts Centre to spend an afternoon writing and discussing loveeee with Imani Ahiro

I feel rejuvenated on this Monday Bank holiday

Just doing some reflection this Monday
I really enjoy cultivating creative Spaces
I have been running workshop since I was 19 years old, I try to create conditions where people discover their own voice.

Every time I lead a workshop, I always feel inspired
The different ways that people can take a prompt

Something that was repeated in the space
There is no perfection it's about expression
Leaning into you
Leaning into your own voice
I find the most beautiful pieces of art is all that is specific
That shares the lens of how that individual artist views the world
Even if you're saying the same thing as 1000 people
It's interesting because you are saying it

📝 Our sessions have been a space to share stories, connect, and create together.

It has been a privilege to have hold space for creativity and bring community together

From quiet reflections to bold new ideas, these workshops have opened doors for expression and confidence💛

Apittame Arts started from a desire to create community through creativity, at a time when I was feeling lost in London. It began with a creative writing session exploring Afrofuturism, Black presence, and Black British historical figures. thank youuuu Melissa Wills, who runs women like me for encouraging and helping me to run my first seshhh.

Each space has taught me something new about creativity, connection, and what happens when people are given room to write, reflect, and simply be.

I always find it refreshing to be in a room with people who are seasoned creatives, just beginning their journey, or finding their footing again because the things that are shared when we allow ourselves to exist together are truly beautiful.

One of my favourite moments was hearing that a workshop inspired someone to start being creative again.

So thank you, thank you, thank you.
I am deeply grateful to everyone who has come and shared space with us.

Grateful for every venue, every participant, and every moment of shared vulnerability that has made these workshops possible.
