T U M B L E R S

Like mentionned previously, the tumblers will be making a comeback on my first shop update. Similar to the espresso cups, they have a thumb imprint on one “side” to make them sit comfortably in your hand. They might be one of my favourite pieces as I use them for a bit of eveything whether it’s iced coffee, water or a little cheeky wine.

The glaze I’ve made and used was supposed to more green as I was attempting to recreate my olive green glaze I used back in the UK, but silly little me, I did not have any Nickle oxide on hand and thought that the amount was so small that it would not make much of a difference… wrong. Instead of green, we’re a little more in the beige brown territory but depending on the light, green hues can sometimes be seen nonetheless.

E S P R E S S O

With my new camera finally set up, I’ve finally been able to go in the studio and snap some pictures of som of the products I made prior to the summer. My camera giving up on me had put me in such a mood and it really ruined the flow of things as I was getting ready to update things on my website.

Maybe it was a good thing in the end because it pushed me to get a better camera that will be easier to film content and also switch up my website which is my current thing I have lined up on my to do list.

I’m hoping to be able to update the new website with some of the stock I have before Christmas if everything goes according to plan. Things you can expect to see ; espresso/cortado cups (like on this picture), tumblers, volcano mugs, small cake plates, ramen/noodle bowls, and everyday bowls.

It won’t be much, but I really wanted to put something online and make the jump to restart selling pottery now that I’m back in Canada.

Anyway, enough babbling. ❤️

Hi everyone! Long time no see on the grid. Life has been pretty busy lately with the day job and I haven’t had the chance to go too much to the studio during the summer. Now that things are calming down a bit with work, I thought to myself I should really make the effort to go back to the studio and make something just for the sake of it.

And I present to you, The Thing. Not sure what it is. Or what it is for but it’s here. Most of my ceramic journey, I’ve focused on making wheelthrown pieces that are functional. I’ve always wanted my work to be used daily but this time around I forced myself to create an object (or a thing) that was not something that could be used.

It has been a constant fight with my brain to not find it a purpose. It was almost a small table at some point but then I decided to cut the top at an angle so that it couldn’t be used that way.

It felt good to wind down and focus on the clay again and I’m happy to be back. I was on a really good roll last year, up until my camera stopped working and it put me in such a mood that I stopped going to the studio 😂 armed with a new camera, I can start making content once again and share it with you.

Hope you’re all doing well ❤️

C O M E B A C K

Hi! It’s me, the guy that moved back across the pond and went total radio silence for a while. In all honesty, I needed a break. 2024 was a whirlwind of changes, some good, some bad and some for the better. Ever since I came back, I took on a job as a coffee shop manager (funnily enough that was my old job I had before moving to England). Having a steady income has been a massive bonus and it gave me the chance to breathe a bit while I take some time to heal.

It’s weird to think that it will be a year next month since I last made something. It feels like a few days have gone by somehow.

I’ve finally made the jump and went ahead to buy my new pottery wheel. I’ve been renting a studio space since August but haven’t been at all (apart from going to take this picture) but now that I’ll have the equipment soon, it’s time for Faulty Stone to make a comeback and conquer the canadian pottery market.

I’ll need plenty of times to play around with the different clays and different materials that are available around, but i’m excited and eager to get my hands dirty.

I’ve missed you all. ❤️

F I N A L P I E C E S 🥺

I’m not too sure how to feel about everything. It’s been quite a long time coming ever since I’ve announced that I would be moving back to Canada, it almost felt like this day would not come but here we are, only a few days before the big day. With all the made to order pieces that were made, I managed to make a few spare noodle bowls extra, just in case things were to go wrong. Luckily, everything went according to plan and I managed to have 10 bowls extra in total which I have now glazed in my Duck W**d green glaze and placed on my website.

They are my last pieces made in the UK. 🥺❤️

For those of you who have supported me from the start or over the years, thank you so much ❤️ Could not have done this without you all.

A N N O U N C E M E N T 📢

Some of you might have kind of guessed with this surprise big sale but it is with heavy heart that Faulty Stone will be closing down after 5 years in the UK. My circumstances in my personal life have changed and I will be moving back home to Quebec, Canada in a couple of months.

I will be selling a lot of things & equipment in the upcoming weeks/months so if you’re a potter looking for some bits at lower price keep your eyes peeled.

It’s a bit heartbreaking, leaving my studio/child that i’ve built from nothing to what it is now. It’s a bittersweet feeling to leave everything behind but i’m also happy to be returning back home and starting fresh, surrounded by friends & family.

At the moment, nothing concrete on what i’ll do once I’ll get back but I’m hoping to find myself a space where I can kickstart everything again into motion.

Thank you all for the support over the years, you have kept me sane and kept me moving forward. ❤️

It’s the summer time and the sun is shining (most days) and all that light and warmth is making me creating new shapes for fun. The more I’m thinking about it, the more I want to go to a muted glaze palette, a more “grownup” vibe.

It’s all good fun having colourful glossy glazes but this is not what attracts me at the moment so that being said, I think my colourful glazes, once emptied, will give way to some neutral colours like this olive green. I’m planning on having a beige too, and possibly a dusty pink.

I have a few more of these simple coloured bottles cooling down in the kiln as we speak. If all is good, they should be out of the kiln, ready for this evening market at the // . I’ll be there trading from 6pm-11pm.

It’s also one of Leicester’s favourite this evening, over at . Plenty of delicious food vendors, great vibe with great music.

Why not do 2 bird 1 stone and go to both events since they’re so close ❤️

For the last 8 months, I’ve had the chance to work with an amazing group of new potters. This project, funded by the , saw the students learning various techniques to work with clay and how clay behaves at every stage. We’ve started from the basics of handbuilding and worked our way up to making an exhibition to showcase their amazing work. It’s been an honour to teach them and share my passion for ceramic.

MUD starts today over at for a nice little preview party from 11am-6pm. If you’re in Leicester, make sure to pop by and say hello.

Hope to see you there.
