Autumn’s Robin

Through amber leaves and skies of slate,
The robin calls, his cry innate.
Amidst the rust and golden hues,
He sings his song, both bright and true.

On branches bare, he hops along,
A scarlet spark, a fleeting song.
With chest ablaze, as autumn’s fire,
He weaves his tune, his heart’s desire.

The air grows crisp, the fields lie still,
As frost begins its nightly chill.
Yet robin stays, a loyal friend,
To see the season’s vibrant end.

With every note, he claims his place,
Among the trees, the wind’s embrace.
A hint of spring in autumn’s reign—
A promise that we’ll meet again.

Part of my traditions is an autumn tree for Sept thru the end of Nov. I can always find a few felted experimental pieces that didn't quite make it to my shop.

The Autumn Adorned Tree

In autumn’s cloak, the old oak stands,
With treasures placed by nature’s hands—
Gold-crimson leaves in layers spun,
And acorns bright in autumn’s sun.

Beneath its boughs, small toadstools peek,
With caps of red, both bold and meek,
As if the forest fairies came
To dress the ground in autumn’s name.

The tree holds court, its branches wide,
With russet jewels on every side,
A crown of warmth, a silent cheer,
For creatures gathering close and near.

Oh, autumn tree, with gifts displayed,
In leaf, in cap, in acorn laid,
You teach us how to give and grow,
As seasons pass and colors flow.

Autumn is here and I always find myself with non-Grey Wren Studio projects to complete.
What are you up to?
I've been seeing so many images and references to frogs recently, so I had to make a little froggy friend of my own.
I've finally finished my Tree Sparrow, after ripping him apart so many times, and I am happy with the results now.
I love to knit, I don't have that much time, but I have four sweaters on the go. The 'logic' was, if I make one piece for each I'll be motivated to finish all four, I'm not sure if it will work out, but I'm plodding on.
