Igniting a new hobby
At the beginning of 2018 my husband gave me a New Year’s Resolution....get a new hobby. He knows I’m a creative sort and always have some kind of project on the go, so what better way to start the New Year, than with something new to focus my wandering creative mind in those dark winter months.
I can’t honestly remember how I settled on the idea of candle-making, but a spark of inspiration found me and shortly after I had a little kitchen table production line on the go. As a pretty keen recycler and upcycler, it was almost inevitable that I’d find a way of creating something new and pretty from something old and unwanted, so all KICA.candles live in upcycled tins or honey jars.
My candles are hand-poured, natural wax - usually a blend of soy and coconut. I use natural cotton wicks and essential oil fragrances. They smell amazing, burn with a smoke free flame and last for AGES! It’s all very eco-friendly and feel good!
