Yay ✨ The worktops are now installed at our Banstead project.
The worktops are made from a quartzite called ‘Taj Mahal’ and it’s finished in a honed leathered texture. I specified a mitred drop edge of just over 6cm on the island to make it feel chunky and luxurious. We would have gone even thicker but this type of installation does require the island to be of a higher height than standard and as my clients are not super tall and they also have a growing family, we decided to keep it functional. The side run is 30mm thick so is also proportionally aligned with the islands thickness. We have a 100mm upstand around the edge and a huge back splash behind the hob within the bespoke canopy hood. And to finish it off, a stone capped pop up socket, secretly concealed within the island worktop with a simple push to open mechanism.
