The dining room at the Artist’s House encapsulates our design approach, where every decision is shaped by curation, craftsmanship and collaboration.

The room is anchored by the Max McLintock bespoke dining table , paired with the vintage 1970’s ‘Monk Chairs’ by Afra and Tobia Scarpa. Wall hanging by DARCEY FLEMING and 1960’s pendant and wall lights by Ingo Maurer.

Last week at the The Women in Art Prize. awards I was honored to present the ‘Brigitta Spinocchia Freund Future Collectible Award’, celebrating an artist whose work demonstrates exceptional originality, technical ability, and long-term collecting potential.

Congratulations to our winner, is a British-Spanish artist whose practice spans painting, sculpture and immersive installation. Drawing on mythology, art history and ideas around femininity, Rafaela brings the female figure to the centre of her work through her distinctive visual language. She creates work that feels so rooted in history and entirely contemporary.

This award recognises current success as well as looking to the future and identifying artists whose practice has the strength, consistency, and vision to become increasingly significant within the contemporary art market.

Beyond the recognition itself, the award highlights the importance of nurturing the next generation of collectible artists. It encourages collectors to discover exceptional talent early while providing artists with valuable exposure and increased confidence as they continue to develop their careers.

At the Women in Art Prize, they believe that today’s emerging artists are tomorrow’s leading names. The Brigitta Spinocchia Freund Future Collectible Award embodies that belief, shining a spotlight on artists whose work deserves to be seen, collected, and celebrated for years to come.

A huge thank you to the entire The Women in Art Prize. team , Catherine and Gabrielle Gabrielle du Ploy for creating such an important platform for championing, supporting and celebrating women artists. Congratulations to all of this year’s winners and finalists on such a brilliant achievement.

Our Mediterranian coastal project in Architectural Digest España Architectural Digest

“Simplicity, spaciousness, and local materials played a fundamental role. The design sought to create a genuine sense of timelessness, whether through the custom-made wardrobes, the flooring finishes, or the outdoor furniture. Every detail was conceived to be simple, uncluttered, and enduring”

Our ‘studio’ sofa, re-imagined for the Curator’s Room as a curved piece, also featured embroidered and appliqué cushions created in collaboration with Hand & Lock

Inspired by lyrics from Patti Smith’s music and poetry, whose work has long resonated with me. Each cushion here reflects themes of collaboration, hope and possibility.

Thank you Architectural Digest España Architectural Digest for the feature on our Mediterranian coastal project.
Working with the land was both the greatest challenge and the greatest joy of the project.

Much of the design was guided by the movement of the sun, so we took the time to decide the positioning of the outdoor seating, working with the existing trees and the shade they naturally create. The project required considerable restraint, with construction deliberately kept to a minimum to preserve the character of the landscape. The decorative scheme was equally guided by the surrounding environment, which made many of the material selections feel instinctive. Outdoors, all of the furniture is timber, with tables made from single slices of giant trees. Fabrics are tactile and linen-textured, with very few patterns beyond those inspired by local tiles. The only accent colour is a warm, sunny yellow. This restraint allows the natural tones of the property to take centre stage; the golden timbers, greens of the garden and the blue of the sea become the defining colours of the experience.

This outdoor space presented a significant design challenge: a 3 x 30 metre courtyard, flanked on all sides by buildings and concrete; effectively a channel of light to the sky.
We developed a landscape that could thrive without direct sunlight, incorporating evergreen moss encased in organic forms, copper leaves, and selected planting suited to low-light conditions.
The wave terrazzo floor flows seamlessly from the pavement outside Palais de la Plage, through the ground floor and into the rear terrace, creating a dialogue between inside and out.
Spanning the full width of the courtyard the cast concrete bench might well be the longest single piece of furniture we’ve designed!

We use a wide variety of rugs in our projects, sourcing existing designs or creating bespoke pieces that capture the mood of the space.
It’s one of our favourite parts of the design process, both for our clients and our design team.
Recent projects feature vintage and antique rugs, artist-designed pieces, our own bespoke creations, and exceptional designs by talented creatives and specialists.
