It's been a few weeks since we sat down as a family to play board games. M Kay] had a chance to work out her competitive side with a House of Games quiz before we played Obama Llama. It turns out to be a bit of a wicked game, she and Younger Geek are on the same wavelength and so got lots of the rhymes, but Husband Geek and Eldest Teen Geek stole the win once Eldest got his visual memory in gear. I'm pretty sure if M Kay] hadn't won the quiz there would have been outrage!

Christmas comes late for this Geek family. These tickets were most definitely the most exciting Christmas present. I'm hoping to convert Eldest Teen Geek to liking musicals too, so he can enjoy more shows at my theatre. This is definitely the right show for a family of Geeks though!

I'm not finding the motivation to do crafting at home at the moment, so I have come down to the Geek Retreat to change my environment. Not having the distractions of home seems to be working. Working with only pens and not paint, and doing everything freehand is a bit different and a tiny bit limiting, but the key thing is I am enjoying it. I'm listening to Back to the Future by Brad Gilmore on Audible while I work.

When came to town I bought myself a beanie hat to wear when I am outside at work. It had 2 pom poms, but a couple of weeks later I realised that one had vanished and it felt a bit wonky. Fortunately a quick email to playbill and a new hat was on it's way to me. It arrived today, but I think Misty has claimed it!

Absolutely loved watching the Panto at yesterday. I laughed so hard! With so many shows having to cancel in the last month, and Covid really hitting the cast and support staff hard, they managed to finish the run by then skin of their teeth. The wonderful response from the audience brought tears to my eyes. So many stories of doom and gloom around at the moment, it really was a bright spot this winter.

and the rest of the cast and crew, thank you so much for working so hard and bringing such joy.

For a whole lot of reasons I have slipped on lots of things this year or so. I need to get more organised. When I saw this geeky calendar I decided that was step 1. I particularly liked the fact it was a family organiser and not a Mum's calendar like most of the others on the shelves. Much as Mum's do tend to be the centre of the family, it shouldn't be simply because that's what society expects of them!

This little bug is enjoying the Euros at the moment, can you see them singing their football songs. It is, of course Three Lions (Football's coming home) that they are singing today ready for England's Semi Final match.

We aren't really a football family, but when it comes to the big competitions we get right in to them.

I know us Brits like to moan about the weather, but it's getting a bit ridiculous now. We had about 8 days of good weather and it's been back to dismal and cold since then. I'm hoping this little bug's smiling face and cute little summer daisies will encourage Mother Nature to be a bit kinder. I don't want the ridiculous temperatures that the West Coast USA and Canada are experiencing, mid 20s would be nice. 🤞🌞🌼

I love how this string art came out! This one has been gifted to decorate office.

I can add a name to the bottom of these too. You would need to make sure you let me know before I started hammering nails as I handwrite them, and it's pretty much impossible once the nails are in the way. They will be added to my Etsy page later, but if you buy direct from me I will donate at least as much as the Etsy fees would be to Harry's rainbow charity.

The thing I love about rainbows is the hope and love they bring to different people. At this time of the year in particular there is hope that one day won't need to be a thing because we will all just love who we love, and love makes us happy.
