Maria Maya is inspired by my grandma, herself a matriarch, an artisan, a craftswoman. Born and raised in Angola, she created beautiful "qualos" (baskets) from sustainable materials such colourful cotton and nylon cords. Although my grandma is my inspiration I need to mention the other Women that have been apart of Me as I’m today. My mum, my unties and my sisters they are the ones who showing me the beauty of creating things with your hands, such knitting, crochet and sewing. I love transform spaces and fill them with beautiful handmade accessories, as Home for me is the place were I fell safe and find peace. With the knowledge, the experience and the passion I created Maria Maya Home Accessories. I would be delighted to invite you on this journey as my wish is that you find solace in these pieces
