Back in 2023 a couple from London got in touch to purchase one of my original paintings. Three years later they messaged me again to commission a very special illustration to be part of their wedding stationary. The brief was to reimagine the famous London parakeets as love birds, the same birds they see every day flying around their garden. Now these two parakeets will be making their way from Barcelona to their new home in London.

Playing around with layers of multiple materials. For this one I used a box of beautiful watercolours I got in Japan, flashe paint and oils on top to create the shadows.

No idea what to call it so let’s say she is “Monty, the new plant in the studio”, A4 size, organic cotton rag paper.

I started this painting last summer, while I was still living in London, during a particularly intense moment in my life with lots of change ahead. Probably because I knew that the time was coming, I was longing to be back in my country, to be close to the sea and that feeling of lightness that coastal places bring.

Eight months later, I finished this painting in the place I had been longing for and can finally call home again: Barcelona.

A dump of photos from the last 5 months. From the continuation of our travels through Asia after Japan which included Hong Kong, Macao, Malaysia and Thailand, to landing in cold London in mid January and having to confront a storage unit full of things that needed to be moved to Spain.

I am still surrounded by boxes but I can say that after 2 years planning I am finally back in my beloved Barcelona. I can’t wait to get my studio fully set up here and start painting again. I have a lot of ideas to shareeeeee 👀 More on this, soon 💫

Five weeks travelling through Japan come to an end. We crossed six prefectures, from big cities to mountain villages and the Setouchi Sea area.
 After months of researching and consuming probably way too much Japan content ahead of the trip, nothing came close to the feeling of experiencing it all in person.

I loved Tokyo’s trendy spots, Kyoto’s backstreets lined with machiya and shrines, and Osaka’s insane food and chaotic energy. But it was the countryside that really touched me: the mountains, the soft bamboo and maple forests, the incredible tea fields and quiet temples.

And what inspired me most was the care and devotion in everything - from crafts to daily rituals. The Japanese definitely nailed the art of dedication. A beginner’s mind - taking each day with the curiosity as if it were the first.

But the journey isn’t over - we’re now in Hong Kong, with three more countries to go, but I hope the energy I found in Japan stays with me 💫

My painting “Bust of a Woman” will be on view next week alongside works by over 200 artists from 35 countries, as part of a powerful exhibition in solidarity with Palestine and organised by and .1_london  
100% of proceeds will go directly to providing urgent medical support in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon.
