Here we go again with Thames Water. Before a quick update we just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the lovely messages we have had and all the offers of help.
We had another burst water main on Sunday night on Richmond Hill at around 8pm. Due to the pressure and damage the water was left to run for a good few hours as the services were worried about the road structure and that it may collapse if the water was turned off. At one point people were being asked to evaluate. We were on sight till about midnight moving our stock to ensuring it was safe and helping the other businesses with flooded basements etc.
We had building and electrical inspections yesterday and Knit With Me is all safe and sound and good to go ... Thank goodness. The road and pavements are also safe apart from the sections which are barricaded.
However, it has been, and continues to be a bit of a manic time as we moved all our stock from the basement up to the workshop floor to ensure it remained safe, dry and undamaged whilst waiting to hear what was happening with the water. This may mean it takes us a little longer than usual to locate your yarn when in store or ordering online or phoning to check dyelots, but we needed it to be safe. We will be doing everything we can to ensure you see minimal disruption and are continuing to get orders out the same day.
We are working hard today to get everything ready to open as usual tomorrow for all our lovely customers. We will be open as usual and apart from the views out our front window you shouldn't see any difference inside our lovely yarn store. However, the upstairs workshop space will be off limits for the rest of the week due there being no place to sit or stand because of all the boxes of yarn 🤣
Thanks for your patience, understanding and custom. We love our community and the support you show us and we look forward to seeing you this week as usual. 🥰
