Just taking a moment away from the never ending admin "to-do list" for a row or two of knitting and gave a loud sigh. I've been knitting this tee for what feels like a long time and been determined not to cast-on something new till it's complete. I try to keep to one project at a time, maximum two, as I know I love a new project start and would never end up going back to finish anything if I allowed myself to cast on willy-nilly when I wanted to.

I started thinking today that I had lost my mojo as I've not been reaching for my knitting as often lately. The more I pondered and listened to what my head was telling me, I started to realise I was punishing myself with my hobby right now whilst saying things like "I must" or "I have to" or "I should".

Actually, this hobby doesn't need to be anything. Beating myself up for feeling a little bored or wanting something different to work on shouldn't be something I beat myself up over. It actually goes against everything I say to all our lovely students and customers. I could maybe take a little of my own advice right about now 😂

So as a reminder to myself, and everyone else who may be feeling the same right now, knitting, crochet and crafting should be whatever you want to be whenever you need it to be. Sometimes you need something simple in your hands, sometimes you are in need of something more engaging for more of a distraction from life. Sometimes you need something small to be able to take with you as you travel, and other times you want something big to sink your teeth into.

As much as I love this tee and really want to finish it and wear it, my mind and hands need something with either more colour or more texture to fill my soul right now. Thats what I am craving, and that's ok.

Maybe after a small break from it I'll come back with new found enthusiasm 🥰 I wanted to remind others who may be in the same situation that we do this hobby for so many reasons and what we don't need it to be is another reason to tell ourselves we aren't doing enough, or doing thing fast enough, or perfect enough.

Thanks for listening 🤗 hope it helps if you are feeling the same.

Do you get aches and pains when crafting? Then grab a spot for our invaluable session with Andrea Lui aka Andrea Lui, PT, DPT, OCS on Sunday 9th Aug at 6pm BST via Zoom. Andrea is a qualified physical therapist who is an accomplished crafter and will be guiding us through her tips and tricks for crafting without pain. She will go through the best ergonomic set up recommendations as well as discussing some of the typical pitfalls us crafters fall foul of. There will be stretches and strengthening suggestions too, so why not have your knitting and crochet to hand and join us.

We are honoured to have Andrea join us again after our sell out session 2 years ago and this time there will be even more to learn.

Andrea has recently released her book "Crafting without Pain" and if you have purchased a copy of this book from us you will receive a free spot for this workshop. Links for the zoom session will be sent out later this week.

A huge welcome to Amano Sami to the shelves of Knit With Me. This gloriously soft DK 100% cotton yarn is hard to describe ... but I'll try my best. Beautiful drape with a subtle sheen, this cotton yarn feels nothing like cotton in our hands and feels like you are knitting with wool. It comes in a stunning array of summer colours and is machine washable. What more could you wish for? Perfect for your summer knits including vests and tee's as well as for baby blankets, wraps and lighter jumper and cardigan layers.

If you have seen the viral dot|top by Anna aka .zip you'll recognise Amano Sami as this is the recommended yarn for this dot vest and we can't wait to make one! Are you thinking of making one with this fabulous shadow knitting technique?? Which colours are you thinking?

Please welcome Amano Sami to put shelves at Knit With Me. A stunning 100% cotton yarn that doesn't feel like any other cotton we have used. Glorious drape, slight sheen and a mega softness that needs to be felt to be believed. This DK cotton comes in a beautiful array of summer colours and perfect for all your medium weight summer projects. Think vests, tees, jumpers or cardigans. Great for wraps and baby blankets too!

Great on 3.75mm to 4.5mm needles and offering a great fabric at 21st per 10cm, this machine washable cotton is just such a fabulous find for us here at KWM.

Also, if you've seen the incredible dot.top
