As we close 2025 and look forward to 2026, we can see that it has been a year that culminated in the realization of a dream. Craft School South Africa is set to open on 2 February 2026, and meeting the first students in their development days this December has been a humbling and affirmative experience. Craft School South Africa is going to bring change and opportunity to those our society might not be able to serve.

To see perspective learners pick up the tools of their trade for the first time and realize that they were made for this - to realize and to know that to be able to embroider or to be able to make furniture is something that can come from deep within, and the opportunity to express that talent can change lives.

We really believe that teaching skills for today will truly be the jobs for tomorrow. Wishing you all a very happy festive season. Thank you for joining us so far on our journey. Watch out, world, here we come for 2026!

2025 was not a year of unbridled joy, and things have not always gone according to plan.

It has, however, been a year of tremendous growth and learning, beautiful bespoke pieces of furniture going all over the world, and our first-ever round rug from Cape Looms. As well as the development of Craft School South Africa, which will open its first class on the second of February 2026.

Without the wonderful showrooms, our collaborators, the incredible craftspeople making the pieces, the wonderful weavers at Cape Looms, the foundation team and volunteers at Craft School South Africa, and my incredible team, none of this would be possible.

With each relationship, it feels a little bit like holding hands, and thank you for holding us in 2025, wishing you a fantastic festive season. I'm looking forward to so much more for 2026.

Opening our doors last week for student development days saw life come from a single thought. It was the most joyful, inspiring, exhilarating and exhausting two days of my 27 year long career. It has been a life-changing journey - this project requires grit and hard work and can offer and create so much opportunity. Seeing the campus filled with students writing aptitude tests, making boxes, embroidering for the first time, making hats and printing fabric and doing a small tiny upholstery project was the most incredibly heartwarming and humbling experience and I want to thank all the people who supported us by popping in and I want to thank all our volunteers- cousins, mother, friends and daughters for giving up their time. A project like ours cannot run without volunteers- thank you. To our early donors- the people who have given us donations so far - you have believed in a dream that has turned into a reality and next year we will prove it work! Thank you for the faith you've had in us. I want to thank the incredible team at the foundation , at and at for moving at warp speed, dusting me off when I stumble, U turning when needed, swimming upstream, knocking on doors and knocking on them again and again. Thank you.

Di- always with me every day the inspiration and lessons the way to live.
How to be. To strive for mastership of all endeavours and if you are going to do something - to do it with your whole heart because then there is no competition.
Can it really be 21 years since you died?

We’re stepping outdoors! We are thrilled to be launching the new Walled Garden collection, an incredible indoor-outdoor range handmade in Portugal. And from Craft School South Africa, something truly special: a fully outdoor collection crafted entirely by our students, using marine-grade stainless steel and a celebration of skill, mentorship, and the power of design to uplift.

The Legacy X Console is one of those pieces that quietly commands a room - sculptural, poised, deeply intentional.

We designed it with proportion at the forefront, the ribboned X-base creating tension and balance, the Macassar ebony finish offering a depth that never feels static. The metal inlay, a simple line, is one of my favourite elements: it catches the light and draws the eye without ever shouting.

This is a design that holds presence and purpose.

Crafted by hand in our workshop.
Available in bespoke finishes, featuring both wood and metal.

Meet Marni Burger. She’s no stranger—most of you will know her from the UK, Europe, and US side of things. Marni and I go way back (a zillion years, in fact), first meeting as bright young things at the Cross Keys pub in Fulham, back when I was still with Nicky Haslam. She was there when I opened my first little spot on Pimlico Road...painting walls in her party dress with a glass of bubbles in hand that very evening.
She’s been woven into our story for nearly three decades, with a few chapters apart while she lived and worked around the globe (including a brilliant run as an interior designer). Four years ago she joined us officially, and we couldn’t imagine it any other way.
Marni just gets it - the work, the clients, the whole story. Her business mind, effortless style, and exacting eye for detail are unmatched. She’s our can-do, “yes” woman who makes things happen, and we absolutely couldn’t live without her.

A circle within a story.

This custom mirror shelf, created for The White House project, balances reflection and function with sculptural poise. The burnished interior catches the light while the outer form frames objects like a curated vignette.

A piece that is as much architecture as it is furniture, designed and crafted by JVB London.

A gentle harmony of form and feeling.

This living room is a study in softness and proportion, where sculptural silhouettes, quiet tones, and artisanal details come together in a quiet conversation. Featuring custom furniture pieces by JVB London, each crafted by hand to honour the rhythm of the room.

Made to be lived with, loved, and passed on.
