What does a superyacht gym need?

With the luxury of space, we'd opt for a gym design like this - the open layout allows for versatility of use and the easy addition or switch out of gym equipment pieces to suit changing training programmes. And yes, a mermaid swimming in the plunge pool above is essential.

When space is limited, we're experts at optimising floor plans with space-saving and multi-functional equipment. We even have smaller, pop-up setups that can be stowed in the transom and brought onto deck as needed.

It’s been another big year for the Gym Marine team!

We’ve celebrated our milestone 10th anniversary and welcomed our sister company Coral Spa Consultants, headed up by our fantastic spa and wellness expert Kayleigh Westgarth. We’ve attended some great events in the yachting calendar and were pleased to see so many of our clients at the Monaco Yacht Show and Metstrade this year to discuss current and future projects.

As a team, we are proud to have worked on some extremely exciting projects and installs this year. To date, we have now completed over 1100 projects globally since Gym Marine’s inception in 2014. As a result of our hard work and expertise in the gym and wellness sector, we were honoured to receive over 20 testimonials from industry-leading designers in respect of our 10th anniversary.

We’ve launched some great products and services, such as our sea fastenings range and GM+, enabling us to provide enhanced warranty support for our clients. We have some exciting collaborations to share with you in the new year and look forward to strengthening our relationship with our crew wellbeing partner, Salt Lick Fitness, supporting them in raising their profile and growing their footprint within the superyacht industry.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our clients and suppliers for a remarkable year, we appreciate your support and look forward to working with you again in 2024.

The beach club and gym space aboard Sanlorenzo's 57m Virtuosity is one of this yacht's highlights. Gym Marine worked closely with the new build project team at Fraser Yachts to deliver a that would meet this owner's exacting specification.

The gym features Technogym cardio equipment from their Personal and Artis lines, a Tonal wall mounted gym with retractable arms, freeweights and boxing equipment from Paragon Studio, as well as bespoke dumbbells emblazoned with the yacht's logo. Top spec superyacht gym style!

Have you seen this 230-foot concept from OLESINSKI? Gym Marine Yachts & Interiors and Coral Spa Consultants were consulted on the design of Rise's wellness amenities, which are intended to boost charter appeal.

“We were approached by Olesinski to assist in the creation of a charter yacht that is highly optimised for wellness. Through a few rounds of consultation between our gym design team and our spa design experts at Coral Spa Consultants, we were able to shape the layout of the area and include all of the features to make this space truly world-class. For a 75-metre yacht, the gym and spa area is vast and there is a well balanced relationship between the exterior and interior areas used in pursuit of wellness. This yacht, once built, would undoubtedly be hugely popular with clients seeking total relaxation and rejuvenation from their time onboard.” - Edward Thomas, Gym Marine.

Gym Marine has begun its 10th year of business! 💫🙌

We are celebrating a momentous milestone as we enter our 10th year of trading.

Over the past nine years, Gym Marine has worked on over 450 superyacht gym projects, ranging from full custom gym design for new builds and refits to charter equipment rentals, and we can now attest to having gym designs and equipment on over 60% of the 100 largest superyachts.

It hasn’t all been plain sailing for founder Edward Thomas, however. His first endeavour to sell a rowing machine to a superyacht left him 17 Euros out of pocket! Thankfully, lessons were learnt and today, Gym Marine's annual turnover is in excess of £3 million.

Since its inception, Gym Marine has expanded into the luxury residential and commercial sectors with many projects commissioned by yacht owners seeking the same bespoke, high specification gyms for their residential properties.

2023 has seen some exciting developments:

👉 This summer, we launched Gym Marine Plus, which offers enhanced after-sales and servicing cover.
👉 We have widened our international network of accredited service technicians to ensure a premium level of customer service.
👉 The design team developed of a bespoke range of sea-fastenings, as well as rain covers to prolong the life of outdoor equipment.

We continue working to improve the science and planning that go into crew gym spaces and are delighted to have SaltLick Fitness as our yacht crew wellbeing partner. This collaboration offers SaltLick Fitness’ specialised crew fitness programmes as an optional extra to any yacht or crew working with Gym Marine.

And, the most recent addition to the Gym Marine Group, is the launch of sister company Coral Spa Consultants. This strategic move to provide a more holistic wellness offering to clients has already proved extremely popular.
