What comes to mind when you hear the words “bachelor pad”? A touch of leather, dark timber, cold metals, maybe marble...

However, we don’t have a term that captures a feminine style of home décor. It’s about time we change that!

This apartment designed by is exactly how I would imagine a feminine decor (while it could easily be a family home). I love its refined but exciting contrasts, tactile materials and soft lines.

What we need now is to coin a term to restore the unfair old balance between the attractive “bachelor” and the outdated “spinster”. Perplexity suggested

🤍 Midweek inspiration.

I am fascinated by the designs of bedrooms with softened corners. According to the sacral geometry, 90-degree corners harbour negative energy. They are also perceived by the human psyche as intense. Dr Ibrahim Karim conducted research and confirmed that extra sensitive and autistic children are happier in spaces where corners are rounded.

I certainly find this approach very pleasing to the eye and am looking forward to introducing it into my design. What do you think? Would you enjoy having a bedroom like this?

Colour has always been one of the most powerful tools for adding individuality to interiors and truly making a home your own. Colour affects how we feel, and our colour preferences are deeply personal.

The depths of colour psychology are still waiting to be explored. This goes beyond specific wavelengths hitting the retina of your eye. Each colour holds a wealth of cultural and historical meanings, often intertwined with symbolism, spirituality, and superstition. Some of us believe that black cat crossing your path can ruin your day, that green cars are “unlucky”, or that yellow flowers signal trouble in love.

Bathrooms are spaces where smart storage is essential. Without effective organisation, even the most spacious bathroom can look messy and unpleasant. Some snobbish peeps can also consider the array of personal items on display as “improper”.

Creating convenient arm-length storage for shower spaces demands ingenuity. Practicality and aesthetics go to war here. The more people use the space, the more challenging it becomes to maintain clean and elegant look.

I am very excited about the new trend of using wallpaper in the kitchen. I’m a firm believer in personalising interior spaces, and wallpaper has always been one of the most affordable and accessible tools at our disposal.

In recent years, the perception of wallpaper has transformed significantly. It’s no longer seen as outdated. With a wide variety of options available on the market, wallpaper can be a creative solution for many design challenges.

Wallcovering can be successfully used with various kitchen styles. I would like to highlight three main rules of the tasteful application:

1. The Right Colour.

Monochromatic options look more stylish. Choose colours and combinations that are already present in your kitchen decor and keep them to a minimum.

2. The Right Pattern.

Ensure that the scale of the pattern is appropriate for your kitchen. Small patterns can make the space look too busy, while oversized options may feel overwhelming.

3. Keep It Practical.

To make wallpaper practical as a splashback, you can consider adding glass (though this may look a bit cheap). I suggest applying a coat of clear, matte, washable varnish. Alternatively, opt for a washable wallpaper, such as vinyl. Don’t be sceptical; modern vinyl wallpapers can have a sophisticated look, resembling silk.
