You can't achieve great design if you don't pay attention to the details. ✨

Line the units up with the tiles, centre the lighting, and add little extras — like this tiled bath surround and we have a great new level of design !

And surprise surprise, we saved loads by choosing a beautiful pre-loved vanity. We only had to change the worktop and found an amazing one from ReUtilize . Co. Uk, who sell Corian + other worktop off-cuts for JUST a fraction of the price!

And can we talk about the rounded edge on the microcement bench? A very small detail but it makes SUCH a difference to the overall look and feel of the space

Finished with brushed nickel tapware — definitely one of everyone’s favourite finishes this year

Your bathroom feels wrong?

It might be the light!

Neutral / cool-leaning light feels fresh, clean, and brighter—best for makeup, shaving, skincare, and morning routines. (4000K is best, do not go above that for bathrooms)
Neutral / cool-leaning lighting pairs best with white, grey, concrete-look, cold terrazzo, marble with grey veining, and crisp modern finishes.

Warm light creates a cosy, relaxing spa vibe—perfect for evening baths and winding down.
2700K, 3000K, 3500K temperature all bring nice variety of warm tones.

Warm lighting works better with beige, cream, travertine, marble with warm veining, wood-look tiles, and earthy tones.

You can also choose LEDs with adjustable colour temperature so you can change the mood anytime.

I'm so excited to share these fresh photos that my client just sent me, showing their en-suite fully renovated and shining!

My clients really loved the vanity they chose before the design project began, and that was our starting point.

The layout wasn't a straightforward solution, as we had a sloped ceiling that restricted us from placing the shower there (which otherwise would have been the perfect area for it)

On the top of that we needed to find a spacious spot for the masterpiece double vanity in a room that wasn't big enough.

Eventually we found a solution. We took a little bit of space from the bedroom to allocate room for the shower, which then allowed us to position the vanity in a nice, large area.

As a result, it became our beautiful main feature vanity wall composition.

Hope you enjoy this project, as much as we do.

Always — and I really mean always — allow enough time for your bathroom design.

I often see people booking a design once building work is about to start, and honestly, that’s too late. A proper design needs breathing space. The nicest, most unique pieces aren’t always immediately available, and good design is about exploring, refining, and choosing well — not rushing.

4 Design Rules for Pairing Wood with a Marble Vanity

Pairing wood with marble isn’t easy — marble is bold, expressive, and luxurious, so the wood needs to be chosen carefully to support it rather than compete.

1️⃣ Check the marble’s tone
Is it warm or cool? Warm marbles pair best with warm wood tones, while cool marbles feel more cohesive with cooler woods, creating a balanced palette.

2️⃣ Balance veining and contrast
If the marble has bold veining or strong contrast between light and dark areas, choose a calmer, more even wood veneer to avoid visual overload. Vice versa, if the marble is calm and cohesive, you can introduce wood with more defined grain — just be careful not to overexpose it or let it take over visually.

3️⃣ Let marble lead
Marble should always be the first element you notice, with the wood acting as a subtle backdrop that frames and enhances it.

4️⃣ Choose refined, not rustic
Marble is a luxury material, so opt for smooth, elegant wood finishes rather than rustic textures that can weaken the refined look.

Part II is coming soon.

Happy to share some fresh photos of one of our lovely bathroom designs at Bathica! 🌿

We so much enjoyed bringing this cosy little space to life.
The bold Verdigris metal-effect floor tiles set the tone, adding a touch of drama, while the warm wooden vanity and cabinet make it feel inviting and grounded. The walls, with their perfectly imperfect porcelain tiles, were chosen to bring that natural, earthy charm we were keen to create.

The lighting: in a small space, it’s not about having lots of light but placing it just right. The LED-lit niche in the bath area isn’t just practical—it adds a soft, inviting glow that changes the whole mood of the space. The large circular mirror with integrated LEDs and the copper tapware were the finishing touches, perfectly balancing style and warmth.

Small spaces deserve big personality, and we think this one really delivers.
