For this one, my client wanted something a little extravagant but simple at the same timeā€”two things that don't usually go together, right? Well, that's where this gorgeous feature vanity unit came in, turning a small room into unique and artistic space. A bit of an unusual mix, but I reckon it was totally worth it!

We were working on a very small layout, and I said,

"Listen, let's organise all the deliveries except for the bath.
We might be able to fit a 1500mm bath, but we won't know until the demolition work starts.
The safer option is a 1400mm bath. However, the availability is goodā€”the bath we want is in stock, with just a three-day delivery time."

My clients decided to go with the safer 1400mm option.

In the end, they told me they were so happy with the bathroom, but the only thing they slightly regretted was not following that advice, because it turned out there was enough space for the extra 10cm.

So it's tricky, isn't it?

Every rule has an exception.

Donā€™t place the chandelier directly above the bathtub.

Although it looks beautiful you donā€™t really want a huge light body above your head whilst relaxing.

Instead, leave at least 50-60cm between the tub and the chandelier.

That way, you have both: a comfort and a beautiful arrangement.

4 steps I took to make this room bolder.

1.Painted all the walls and ceiling in a deep turquoise green.
2. Added a wall light above the bath and 3. a floor light in the corner.
4. Brought in a tall plant.
That's it.
A few simple changes took this bathroom from beautiful to bold.

Don't build sharp edges on built-in shower seats.

Even when they can look beautiful they can subconsciously make us feel tense.

Especially in a space that can get slippery.

Instead, design a rounded edge. It feels safer and more inviting, while adding a soft, luxurious touch.

Itā€™s a small detail but it can make the whole shower feel more comfortable and stylish.
